One of my favourite shots from the cruise. I couldn't quite believe what I saw when I looked up as we strolled along Orient Beach on St. Maarten. The matching boats provided a nice pattern to an already colourful scene. The clouds along the horizon brought the only rain of the trip within about thirty minutes of taking this.

The view from our balcony on our cruise ship, The Freedom of the Seas, as we were ready to embark from the Port of Miami. It's the unusual roof of the boarding area.

I chose to shoot it in B&W as it was mid-day and the light was quite strong, and as well, to emphasize the inherent shape element.

At long last I am posting my Cruise photos from this past February. My wife and I went on a one-week cruise in the Caribbean. We had the time of our lives.

This row of sailing boats made for a nice example of repeating pattern on our resort's beach in Varadero.

Desert forks are carefully arranged for the upcoming wedding cake. I couldn't resist this attractive curved pattern element.

Ironically, this is the second last shot of my week down in Cuba. I hope to get the opportunity to post some of the "keepers" taken in between as time allows.

The harsh mid-day sun resulted in some interesting shadow patterns. I included the palm frond in the crop for foreground interest and geographical context. It also leads the viewer nicely back to the repeating pattern of the main part of the frame.
