His Excellency, Bishop Jose Oliveros confers the Diocesan Award to me during the fifth year of preparation for the Golden Jubilee of the Diocese of Malolos on March 12, 2011 at the Divine Mercy National Shrine. What touched me most (and made me cry also) was that Msgr. Bartolome Santos, our Parish Priest and Rector, was standing beside the Bishop during the awarding. I found out later that it was Msgr. Bart's idea to surprise me with the award. To my dear Parish Priest and Rector, THANK YOU for entrusting me various responsibilities in our Parish. I will never get tired of serving God. Thank you for this humble appreciation.

Finally, after years of waiting, my image of Sto. Niño de Fatima has been completed. Many of my Flickr friends know its story especially why the completion took so long.

Although it already joined four processions in Valenzuela and two exhibits (both in Malolos) since 2007, it had been constantly undergoing completion from the body, base, and encarna. Last year, after it joined the Fatima Fiesta procession, I decided to let one famous escultor/encarnador in Pampanga finish my Niño.

This time, the image is mounted on a cloud just as the Child Jesus appeared to Sister Lucia of Fatima. I also had its face, body, and hands repainted.

Thank you so much to all who helped and prayed for the successful completion of this image.

Viva Sto. Niño de Fatima!

The National Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fatima, under the care of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Valenzuela City, marks its 25th year of arrival in the country. It was launched during the opening of the Marian Year in December 8, 1984 at Quirino Grandstand, Manila.

To celebrate this important milestone, she will once again join the Grand Marian Procession in Intramuros on December 6, 2009.

Be part of this very important milestone in the history of Fatima devotion in the Philippines.
