Ever since I caught a refraction of a sun pillar, I've been wanting to photograph a refraction of sunbeams. So when some appeared from this break in the clouds, I rushed to take some pics. They soon went, and I think I prefer the later one, without sunbeams, shown below. (Sorry -- it is occasionally not available -- not sure why.)

On Black

I was at Wilstone reservoir for sunrise (can become a habit). These two swans were being very fond. They faced each other , and for quite a while I waited for the heart: but this was the nearest I caught. But I liked it set in gold and with the reflection. They seemed to be rubbing heads and necks together, and I've included two further takes in the first comment, below.

Apologies for using this again -- but there may be someone who hasn't seen it yet. (Nearly 25,000 views.)

I was in the woods, trying to get a spider in its web into focus, when I noticed the weak sunshine hitting these seed heads. They are characteristic of Rose Bay Willow Herb, which flood the woods in the autumn, but most are still in full flower. So I took this as a curiosity, and liked what came onto my screen.

I had fun trying to get the wandering sheep lined up with trees. I took a bunch with two or three trees, and it's been impossible to choose. Two tree one below.
Note the Wendover Boer War Memorial between the first two trees.

I was moaning that we don't have such colourful birds as elsewhere. Then I met these fellows in the sunshine by the sea.. They were playing around the piled up lobster pots.
Yes! The colours look metallic and shiny in the bright sunlight.

I was taking shots of the reflections at the lake -- trees and clouds. I did notice the masts, but I'm not aware that I took a photo. But here it is.
There is detail in those dark trees, but I think I prefer the stark contrast with the masts.

I haven't managed to get out at twilight this year, when the blues are at their deepest and richest. So this old one will have to do until I get up to date.

Cold bright day at the reservoirs: A number of swans interacting and bickering. The ideal time to catch a heart. Didn't get a perfect one, but there does seem to be some feeling between them.

Dawn cloud

Riley and I went to see the sun rise, and we found a layer of dark thick cloud over the horizon.
But the sun was shining behind that cloud, and warmly lit up the higher clouds.

When the sun did eventually appear it was quite late, and higher in the sky. -- See below.

November sunrise

I've not caught the sun rising in November -- and I felt a strong need to see it roll up over the horizon.
So when I saw the broken clouds, I decided to get to the reservoirs for sunrise.
As I drove there the clouds simply evaporated, and left a bald sky.
But I did see the sun rising triumphantly. (See below)
And as I walked back to the car a few minutes later, I rather liked the sun sitting in this tree.

Originally underexposed, and making it lighter brought out the noise.
Denoising changed the quality, but this time it quite appealed to me, so I've included it below. I'll make it public if anyone wants.
