Like we have carports here in Oregon, locals living on Lake Washington have similar shelters for their boats. Just beyone these boats were some amazing looking houseboats. We'll have to make another trip up there to get pictures of the houseboats.

Did they think about adding this label to the low humped moat wall after they realized people were falling off of it and landing in the water?

Or did they design the low wall this way as a dare to the public to try it, then up the ante by telling them to stay off?

We smelled a weird sweel smell. Turns out it was this guy, sitting on some wood and smoking a pipe.
As we walked past, he muttered something incoherent to us.
I looked at Andi and whispered, "What was that?"
When we got into the car, parked right behind the guy, she pointed out that the pipe smoking guy had an animal in the file box. Just then a little face peeped out of the hole.

We never did find the restrooms.

Don't know who this little pooch belonged to, but he decided we were going to share our supper with him.

He came sniffing around and tried to look cute - and hungry - but we told him "No."
Not easily discouraged, he tried barking at us to make sure we knew he wanted some of our food.

Realizing we weren't going to part with the food any time soon, he started marking the space in front of us, then kicking up tufts of grass to end his little territorial ritual.

Ornery beggar.
But a cute ornery beggar...

Pizza made in a wood fired ovens is a very special treat. If you've never had a wood fired pizza, you are missing out big time. And I mean BIG time.

Wood fired pizza has a crispy crust with a tantalizing smoky flavor that tastes so right with pizza toppings. Traditional toppings are great on wood fired pizza but the more esoteric or gourmet toppings (like jerk chicken or artichokes) are un-believeable.

It smelled so good, walking by this vendor at the Bellevue farmers' market but the line was long and we needed to hit the road... I haven't seen a wood fired pizza since leaving Minneapolis almost 6 years ago. It's one of the foods I miss most.
