I never went into town when visiting Aachen, until this week. I visited one of the largest and ugliest looking hospitals in the world and so it had to be compensated with some nice architecture. I went into the centre of town and found this site. It was not allowed to use a tripod here (until I gave some Euro's to the guy in charge) This Church is part of UNESCO world Heritage.
With its columns of Greek and Italian marble, its bronze doors, the largest mosaic of its dome (now destroyed), the Palatine Chapel of Aachen has, from its inception, been perceived as an exceptional artistic creation. Construction of this palatine chapel, with its octagonal basilica and cupola, began c. 790–800 under the Emperor Charlemagne. Originally inspired by the churches of the Eastern part of the Holy Roman Empire, it was splendidly enlarged in the Middle Ages. The Cathedral Treasury in Aachen is regarded as one of the most important treasuries in northern Europe.
How this image was made:
Nikon D7000 & 10-24mm (no, I even the 10mm was not wide enough to get it all in one shot!)
15 bracketed images were processed into 5 HDR images. These were stitched using Hugin Software into a vectorama image which was further tweaked to the result above. Hope you like it!

21 Images were used to get this result. I made 7 HDR images using Photomatix Pro and these were processed into a Panorama image using Hugin Software

Currently an office and university building.
The city of Pori was founded on the mouth of the Kokemäenjoki river in 1558. Traditionally an industrial and port city, it has rapidly transformed itself into a city of students. Its strong ties to culture have kept the city vigorous for centuries.

This is an 8 HDR Mode Vectorama processed out of 24 original images.
8 HDR images were stiched in Hugin Software using Equirectangular projection.

Here the same shot only in Vectorama mode. 27 images were processed into 9 HDR images and stiched into a Vectorama. The image was processed as Duotone to emphasize the architecture of the building. I hope you like it!

Ok, I admit: it's not the perfect Panorama...
But if you look throught he artefacts you see the amazing things you can do with a 10mm lens and Panorama Software. Enjoy the view!

Ok, you have to spend some time to do it... processing six HDR images and merge those into a panorama.
Result: a reasonable image from Auxerre and well spend hours during a hotelnight...

I visited it again today, the Klinikum Aachen, or in German: "Universitätsklinikum Aachen", the largest hospital building in Europe. It is part of the RWTH Aachen university and contains its whole medical faculty.
Seen from far away, for many visitors the Klinikum Aachen looks more like an oil refinery than a hospital, due to the huge striped ventilation pipes that are attached to the outer walls.

One week ago I had a flight to Ålesund, now back home had some time to work on the images. That's one of the downsides of the Digital Photography world, you need time to archive, process and tweak your images, in yhe old days you could fine me in the dark room, now I can do it anywhere...
Above you see a panorama image processed using 5 HDR images with a early morning view over Alesund. I went up the mountain Aksla to shoot this magnificent view over this nice town. I had some luck!: just a few minutes later the sun went away and a sad gray view was left.
