Here is the third in my series of simplified photos.

I was delighted this past May when our young cherry trees gave us enough cherries that even after stuffing ourselves with cherries for two weeks, there were still enough cherries to make two pints of preserves.

I took this photo of them, and I always liked its light and look, but it wasn't until I experimented with simplifying it that I decided to upload it.

So, here are my two little pints of cherry preserves.... and the last cherries from picked from the tree. I believe this was the day I finally put the ladder and the basket away.

Those preserves are so sweet and so "cherry" that they are rather overpowering. (!)

Our cherries are ripe! We have never had a harvest like this before!
Three years ago we had about 50 cherries (at that point the trees were about 6 years old.)
Last year we had hundreds, but it rained nearly every day last spring, and all the fruit molded and rotted on the tree.

But this year, with the unusual early spring, enough rain but not too much... we have cherries!

My daughter and I picked cherries for about 25 minutes. We could pick for hours more, and that is just one of two trees. =)

The first photo is the cherries in the evening sun, yesterday.
The second and third photos are of the blossoms.
The last photo is of the two baskets of cherries we picked today.

Very exciting to finally get results!

Cherry season! Ranier cherries are my personal favorite...
