Handmade soap is gentler on skin because it's made with natural ingredients, not synthetic ingredients found in most commercial soaps whose sole purpose is to create a foam or lather. Because of this many individuals who can't use commercial soap, and have turned to using only handmade soaps. I first got into soapmaking because I was buying handmade soaps on a regular basis to satisfy my finicky skin. I soon discovered that soapmaking is quite addictive. I currently have a batch of my new Strawberry Preserves soap curing. The scent is a delicious blend of strawberries and sweet syrup and smells almost edible. It's filled with ground oatmeal and poppy seeds for exfoliation. Like all of my other soaps, this one is also rich in moisturizing oils and butters for happier, healthier skin. It's perfect for both cleansing and shaving due to its thick, creamy lather.

Part of my soapmaking process.

In this photo I am making cold process shea butter soap scented with Red Currant fragrance oil and colored with natural iron oxide pigment.

Here I am mixing the lye with the water. The fumes are NASTY. I have the fan on high and once mixed, I step away until the fumes have cleared out. These get set aside to cool once they no longer are letting off fumes and I'm ready to weigh my butters and oils.

Southern Sweet Tea Soap

This soap is reminiscent of tea with lemon that is sweetened with a touch of honey. The scent is a blend of tea leaves, honey nectar, wild flowers, and lemongrass. The bar is naturally colored a light yellow from the addition of real lemongrass essential oil. Real tea leaves are dotted throughout the bar for visual interest and exfoliation. This soap rinses cleanly away and is all natural except for the fragrance. Vegan. Each bar weighs 4oz. - 4.5oz.

All of my soaps are rich in moisturizing oils and butters for happier, healthier skin. You're sure to love the thick, creamy lather of my soaps so much, that you'll be back for more before you know it! This bar is particularly wonderful for shaving. Also works well as a facial soap and even a shampoo bar.

Ingredients: olive oil, coconut oil, distilled water, palm oil, sodium hydroxide, rice bran oil, shea butter, sugar, tea leaves, fragrance, and lemongrass essential oil.

My Peppermint Foot Cream is comprised mainly of natural shea butter. It's a great, all natural moisturizer with peppermint oil to refresh your feet and anti-fungal tea tree oil to keep your tootsies in tip top shape.

Shea butter is a natural fat that is extracted from the fruit of the Karite Tree found in West Africa. It is a wonderful moisturizer and emollient, and also has anti-inflammatory properties. Apply liberally to the skin to treat scars, eczema, burns, rashes, acne, severely dry skin, chapped lips, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
