My favourite 17-85 USM lens developed a fault and was stuck at 17mm with only about 2mm of play. Upon googling, I came across this link: thydzik.com/canon-efs-17-85mm-is-stucklocked-zoom-repaird...
After researching repair costs, I decided to have a go at fixing it myself as it wasn't quite worth the mortgage cost to get it done professionally!
Following the instructions on my iPad, I painstakingly removed and labelled more intricate pieces of lens than I ever imagined could be contained in such small housing (I swear, this lens is part TARDIS!!)
It was a LONG LONG LONG process but I'm pleased to say that the patient came through the operation and is now fully working again!! YAY me!!

My 3yr old son, not best pleased that he didn't win a game. He pitches the best hissy-fits, but can't stay mad for long... about 30 seconds after this photo, he was giggling again and all was forgiven and forgotten!!

My first attempt at capturing water in motion. The droplet incredibly looks like a bride carrying her bouquet has risen up from the water.
