Taken in Loro parque on Tenerife, the birdcage is so big that you can follow a path that winds through the tree tops, with an abundance of parrots and the like which are used to the many tourist, that why you can get good shots really up close.

Situated at 2100m above sea level 'El Roque Chinchado' is an impressive rock that extends 30m from its base and performs a delicate balancing act.
In the background the vulcano 'El Teide' which towers with an impressive 3718m above sea level which makes it the highest mountain of Spain.

It hasn't rained for exactly one year in the south of Tenerife, needless to see there ain't much green to be detected,
amazingly however most plants seem to be able to cope with such conditions. Who is the stronger species here?

We went on a little week trip to Tenerife, I'll be posting many pictures of this terrific volcanic island in the Atlantic ocean.

I went on this organized jeep tour leaving my pregnant wife and our little Ella behind for the day, as an after thought I would not go and see the island on an organize jeep tour when i wanted to photograph, we drove past too beautiful spots one would not ignore when driving on your own and we had too shorts stops in other interesting places given me a rush rush feeling which is no good when discovering a place for the first time.

May is an interesting time to visit Tenerife since all flowers are blooming.
The is actually a large cone shaped plant with hundreds of little flowers, but I took this shot looking straight down on the top, which revealed a spiral like structure.
