Going through the archives again. Spent some of last night post-processing some images from a trip to London late last year.

I removed all clarity from this to enhance the glowing lights and floor and to give it a silky smooth feel.

Really looking forward to tonight, my son is playing the lead role in a school production of Oliver in front of about 300-400 people. He's never done this before, so hats off to him for giving it a go. So I won't be able to catch up with everyone till much later.

Another shot from my day out in London at the weekend with Martin Turner, Daniel Borg, Paul Baggaley and Paul Stokes.

We all ended up at Canary Wharf in the afternoon, so couldn't resist taking photos of the tube entrance/exit.

This was one of the last photos I took, with the camera simply placed on the ground.

Classic Car

A classic 60's style car, given a bit of an over-saturated 60's cinematic feel to it. I've seen this car in the area near me quite often, but this was the first time I had the camera with me as well.

Neglected

I seem to have a huge backlog of photos to put on flickr, so here's one from my trip to Bath a few weeks ago. This neglected bicycle and bridge were found in Widcombe, where the barges are moored. Although it doesn't look like it the weather was cloudy and it was starting to rain very heavily.

Following on from yesterday's photo, here's one from the other end of the tunnel - the shape of the roof causing these fab curved shadows.

This was right at the edge of the tunnel. It was a shame the bike wasn't parked just one more place to the left then the composition would have been perfect!

Tunnel Vision

Another photo from the weekend, taken near Bath railway station which has recently been completely revamped.

This is one of the tunnels leading under the station, which now includes loads of bike racks for those cycling to work/shops. Didn't have to wait long for someone suitable to walk into the picture!

On a different note - i'm so proud of my daughter who auditioned for a part in the English Youth Ballet's production of Giselle last night......and she has been selected as one of the 30 children to perform on stage later this year in the full scale production with about 8 principle dancers at the New Theatre in the centre of Cardiff. Can't wait to see it!

Camouflaged

A view of the London skyline, looking towards Vauxhall bridge, like one big jigsaw puzzle. The buses crossing the bridge are almost camouflaged by their surroundings.

Going Underground

An alternative take of Canary Wharf underground station, taking from the upper exit to Canary Wharf.

This was actually a hit and miss shot - the barrier was too high so this was taken by simply pointing the camera downwards, taking a photo and checking the composition afterwards. Luckily most of them look good, thanks to the fish eye lens, but this is my favourite.

And lastly, I discovered yesterday that I had reached 400,000 views on my photostream. Not huge compared to some of my flickr friends, but i'm still amazed at the sheer number of people who take the time to view my photos. So a big thank you to everyone who looks at, comments and/or favourites my photos - it's really appreciated.

Had a fantastic day out in London yesterday with Martin Turner, Daniel Borg, Paul Baggaley and Paul Stokes, despite the dull grey sky and cold. Thanks everyone for a fab time.

We managed to pack a real variety of locations into the day, which gave me the chance to do types of photography I typically wouldn't do.

So start with, here's this shot of Tower Bridge. Taken in about 1 minute, using the gorillapod to grip on to the railings on the side of the road. I've never really done any light trails before, but pleased with this one from the passing London red bus.

I quite like the monochrome version too, so thought i'd add it to the comments below.

A couple of photos from London again today, taking during the Open House event weekend.

We spotted this classic car on the way back from the Allen & Overy building. Luckily it was parked on the side of a relatively quiet street - which in reality wasn't a hill climb like it looks in this photo. Post-processed for some rich, deep vintage tones.

I've realised that i've got such a backlog of images to upload, it'll be weeks before I get round to posting them all. So, for the next few days, I'll try and get round to posting 2 a day.

Here's a typical me shot - it's a simple, colourful, abstract shot taken on Bishopsgate St. in London - complete with planes in the background.

So while I process my photos from the London Open House event at the weekend, here's another photo from Oxford for you all!

This was taken at the back of the University of Oxford New Bio-Chemistry, where there were loads of bikes locked up.

I really like the contrast of the new architecture, mixed with the reflections of old Oxford in the glass and the icon Oxford bicycles.

Daimler

Had great fun last night during the BoA phography group meeting. We all met up and the theme for the night was to go off and take random photos at every 20 paces or so - with the intention of meeting up 1hr later at a pub.

Near the end of the walk we discovered this lovely Daimler parked amongst some grass and shrubs near the Tithe Barn.

I've used a PS filter to really add some saturation and depth of colour to this. Don't normally like car photos but i'm pleased with this one.
