I'm in a funk. Emory and I miss Jasmine so much. Lots of beauty around with Spring flowers in bloom but just not feeling very motivated to take pics.

Mosaic of the pics I took of the red robins feasting on the blue berries outside my bedroom window. The berries ripen every March and the robins arrive almost on the exact same day every year.

I'm happy to report that Keiko is back to her old self again [after being sick earlier this month]. In fact, yesterday she was very active [and even got up on our 6'foot fence]. She will be *15 yrs old* in two weeks....so it's amazing how well she's doing.

Under our vet's advice we put her back on the thyroid medication yesterday. We will keep her at 1/2 the dose and monitor how she tolerates it very carefully. We are nervous about this--but am hoping she won't react adversely to it again.

'Was gone to the coast for 13 hours yesterday and visited with relatives from Alaska this morning so haven't had any time to Flickr. I am pooped but thought I'd start uploading some pics taken at the coast yesterday.

Main post: Golden Retriever sitting in the truck looking out the window....so "human like".

Raccoons eat the filberts I put out for the squirrels but normally come at night so I was really surprised to see this one in broad daylight this morning. I don't mind raccoons in my yard as they've never been a problem and my cats are in during the night. However, I locked everyone in while s/he was eating-- and after about ten mins s/he left.

Our trip to the beach wouldn't be complete without stopping to see the Golden Retrievers at a small coastal town. I love how their people put this porthole in the fence so they can look out. I just wish I could have wiped their slobber off the glass to make them easier to see. ha.

Well, soon it will be July. Half of 2012 is gone. I haven't accomplished what I needed to do to get healthy so am going to need to make drastic changes to my lifestyle starting with my diet....[ eating way less ---and more wholesome food]. Plus need to spend more time moving instead of sitting.

You all know how addictive places like Flickr, Facebook and other onlines sites can be. When I first joined Flickr, I had just a handful of contacts for much of my first year. As the years passed, it was thrilling to acquire many more. I thought 230 contacts would be a managable amount--but it was too much so knocked it down to 130 ...but now find that even that amount is too much "for me". I spend HOURS on Flickr. If I see a picture..I am immediately compelled to comment.

So...I have no choice but to cut my contact list way back [ to 50] so that I'm not on the computer at Flickr for hours anymore. I will be slow and selective about who I choose but wanted to let you know ahead of time --

This was taken in October 2011 and she was trapped on January 21, 2012 and taken to my vet to be spayed. I caught all five of her kittens the same week and Father cat too. She lives at Frenchman's Bar County Park and lives under the caretaker's house. A sad existence indeed. But at least now she won't be having kittens.

She was spayed on 1/24/12 and returned on 1/25/12. My vet said she was very young ...barely over a year old and had already produced two litters].

This decorated white fence caught my eye earlier this month on a nice sunny morning.

I hope you all have a great weekend and get your last minute shopping// cards// decorating done.

I'm taking food to my cat colony [ Felipe] this morning after our hike. Plus will pick up some food and deliver to a woman who's caring for a dozen cats but is low on cat food ---so the shelter I volunteer for is giving her some...plus I bought her a thirty pound bag of kibbles.

The cat that bit the vet tech two weeks ago will finally get spayed today and returned home tomorrow. She's been hiding in her cage at the vet...they never see her except for two eyes peeking out from the corner under all the blankets. sigh.

1. The fog was so dense where we were walking this morning it was hard to see very far in front of us, but lovely none-the-less.

2. HUGE Amanita fungi on the trail. Most had been split from their rapid growth.

3. Apparently, someone had dumped two young cats....[this place is notorious for dumping unwanted pets]. This little one couldn't have been older than four months. I immediately went home and grabbed two traps, but sadly this cat [ and littermate] were long gone when I returned. I looked for a couple hours before finally giving up.

4. Leaf trapped on a dewey spider web/ barb wire fence.

This Tortieshell caught my eye as I was driving thru a residential area in a very small community. S/he clearly has a notched ear....maybe s/he was given that when TNR?

I dislike the change of time [ Daylight Saving] my pet's internal clock can't be fooled ...so we awoke at the same time as usual.
