I'ts been a while since I've had a chance to do any photography, I did some shots for my sister last weekend for her new business 360 Degress Holistic Health Studio on the Gold Coast, so if you're down that way and you need some Physio or Tradional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and more go check them out. Another of the Bison from Aranyani Bison, Myrtle Creek, NSW. They have just had about 15 new bison arrive at the farm late last year, so with the other 10 they are really starting to look like a real herd now. When you go into their yards in the farm vechile with their feed on the back and they are at pace surrounding you as you drive, it gives you a real sense of how big they really are and how their herd structure works, with the males always coming in and eating from each grain pile before the lower ranked members take their share. They are currently shedding last seasons coat, so after we fed them and they were all content eating we cruised around the yards and picked up all the fur, we got about a shopping bag full, some of its so soft, it'd make an awesome jumper :)

I'm on holidays now for two and a half weeks, and I'm off to my friends farm for a few days before Christmas and hopefully will find something to keep me busy photographing on my time off. But for the mean time I thought I'd post another of the shots I got of the Maratus Volans, Marty and I found, I had a Marigold flower handy and got a couple of nice colourful shots :) hope you're all well!

On a wander through the garden with the camera today, I found this lovely little skipper, it waited patiently for me to get a few shots and then flew off.

The Orange Palm Dart (Cephrenes augiades) is a butterfly of the Hesperiidae family. It is found from Indonesia to the Solomons.The wingspan is about 40 mm.

The larvae of ssp. sperthias feed on Archontophoenix, Livistona and Phoenix species. During the day it hides within a shelter made by using silk to join fronds of its hostplant, which fold together and bend across each other naturally

A Rhombonotus sp I discovered last weekend, this was the best shot I managed of him, they are such active little salticids!! This one was about 3mm in length.

Well I have had an interest in salticids for a few years now and this fellow has been an ellusive little guy in that time, so as Marty and I do on occasions we set off for a drive to try a new spot and as I cornered a little jumper on the rocks up high I heard a shout of you're not going to believe what I just found from Marty on a rock below and I jumped down to where he was and couldn't believe my eyes :) finally all that searching had payed off :) Maratus Volans mature male, size 4mm. Just wish we found a female so could have seen his little jig!! :)

This was the first time I have found this beautiful little jumper, it has such lovely markings, apart from the little yellow tip it reminded me of one I found in the Ecuadorian Amazon. This one was 8-9mm in body length.

A Helipis Minitabunta I found last weekend. I thought I had a female as well, but when I checked her this evening, it was another freshly moulted male, I was really hoping I could have a female so I could try for a courtship dance. This is the first time I have shot this species of salticid and they are so elongated! This ones body was about 1cm and with legs outstretched appox. 2.5cm.

A few weeks ago now when Marty and I were out at Tichi Tamba wetlands, we were very surprised and excited to find Urogelides daviesae in the first tree we looked. This one was a little larger (3mm) than the last one I found. Such a cool little salticidae. Funny story, when I was shooting this one, I had it on my bed on a white dinner plate with the leaf on it and I could coax it onto the leaf at one point, so I decided a little puff of breath might do the trick, haha right, I spent the next 10 minutes wih a 100 watt lamp in my hand, trying to find in on my brand new grey flannelette sheets..... what a mission that was!!! :)

Found this one out at the Tichi Tamba Wetlands last weekend, quite a large salticid at 9mm in length, not 100% sure of an ID so any help would be great. the markings remind me of Jotus Auripes.... but i know it's not.
