only a 30 second exposure as my lens was spotted with rain, sensor needing cleaned & it was freezing cold, I was soaking wet, it was really windy but still having fun! ;)

here's to more play time in 2013!

How this was created in the studio:
12 minutes planning, f/11 aperture, 10 attempts to shoot it on the 9th day of December, 8GB CF card in a Nikon D700 on a 6 metre backdrop,
5 minute exposure!
4 quid LED, 3 x coloured gels, 2 ‘helping’ beagles…
and a light painted Christmas tree!

test subjects during studio setup for a product shoot earlier today.

Strobist: gridded octobox high left at 1/2 power, 2 x SB28s into large diffuser above grass (yes, it's real grass) and a 400W/s studio head at 1/2 into small softbox flagged from black wall & floor, fired by skyports.

this is Ollie, he was 17 weeks old when he visited the studio for his portrait session. Although not completely deaf, the very little he can hear will probably disappear soon, but he was full of fun & mischief but did really well when we worked with closely with him to achieve images like this.

(my own wee grungy grainy muted colour type post technique) (usually works better in b&w… but not this time)
