There are many avocates of landscape photography who believe that pictures should be taken either early or late in the day and most photography magazines subscribe to this line of thinking too. Personally Ive never believed in that train of thought, there are twenty four hours in the day all capable of yielding good results and in this day of digital imaging with ISO numbers available at the push of a button, anytime is a good time!

Where were you on the 22nd November 1963, I was travelling on one of these with my parents from Portsmouth, where my Dad was stationed, back to Kent, for the weekend. When we arrived at my Nan’s we learned the news that JFK had been assassinated. I was too young to understand the implications of this at the time, but could sense the buzz in the room as everyone was glued to the TV news.

A trip to Rye yesterday produced nothing but flat light, despite promises of sunshine and showers from the Met weather centre, well done Met you got it wrong again! I got fed up and drove on to Camber and got accosted by the beach patrol asking why I was taking pictures, I won't give my answer on here!.....about to give up and leave and the gloom started to lift.

I have to say this was my least favorite place, its a bit fish and chips and bingo for my taste! the weather was a little inclement, but that aside I just didn't find it photogenic, so I had to point my camera at stuff I wouldn't normally shoot.

My base for last week, Whitby, although no gym work was done I think it qualifies on the grounds of the amount of walking I did, this was usually followed by lots of sleeping!........will play catch up later.
