LARGE is the only way to go on this one. . .
This is a glacier just north of Juneau, Alaska. It has been receding rapidly due to global warming. In fact, the visitor's main lookout is now 400 yards or more from the begining of the glacier. So sad.

A panorama made from 4 separate photos "stiched" together with Microsoft's Digital Image Pro. I know of no other program that makes it easier, or does it better.
From a mountain above the capital city of Alaska. Juneau can only be reached by air or sea.

The tiny birds give an indication of the size of this iceberg in Alaska. If you haven't seen An inconvenient Truth, the movie about global warming, please make a point to see it.
One reason I use a polar bear for my icon is that they are drowning because the ice at the North Pole is melting so fast. . .
And yes, it looks exactly that BLUE. . .notice that the water is gray/brown.

One of two eagles in a wildlife sanctuary in Ketchikan, Alaska. This wounded bird will never fly again. So sad . .
I adjusted the low levels so that the detail could be seen more in the dark feathers. Kind of a one-shot dynamic range increase - DRI

In the in inland passage of lower Alaska, approaching Juneau. It's amazing how these 5-6 thousand foot peaks rise straight up from sea level.

The White Pass and Yukon railway. One of the most exciting rail trips you could ever take. There was a 1/2 hour feature of the trip on PBS a couple of months ago. Catch if if you can.

Fraser, Alaska is one of the stops on the White Pass and Yukon railroad. There was recently a PBS televison special on the railroad - check local listings. It's quite a trip.

Best in the ORIGINAL size. Don't worry, it's only 200 Kb.
