Here's a method for getting dollar bill proportioned paper from a square that I developed myself. It's more accurate than the two common methods that you find in books and online (one results in a 7:3 rectangle and the other in a 1+√2:1 rectangle). While the 7:3 method is nearly as accurate as my method, it's far more difficult. My method is as simple as the 1+√2:1 method but much more accurate.

Pierson's Puppeteers are a fictional alien race from Larry Niven's Known Space books. They are described as having two forelegs, a single hindleg and two snake-like heads instead of a humanoid upper body. A puppeteer's brain is housed not in the heads but in the thoracic cavity, protected beneath the mane-covered hump from which the heads emerge. They use their mouths to manipulate objects as a human would use their hands.

This is an old model of mine that I've reworked and adapted to the dollar bill format (originally from a silver rectangle). It was inspired by Eileen Tan's Puppeteer models.

I recently saw the movie Chronicle and was really taken with the flying scenes. I liked the way the characters were alternately awkward and graceful in the air and the way the extraordinary act of flying was contrasted with the very normal clothing they would wear when they went up (hardly the usual superhero fare). I've attempted to capture these elements in my model.

I began designing this model almost immediately after getting out of the theater with the only paper I had on me... so this ended up being another dollar model. I've used the teaser poster for the movie as a backdrop for my model.

This started as a doodle, messing about with molecules on a dollar bill, and it turned into a full fledged model that I rather like. It's also my first money fold that's entirely my own creation.

I tried it out on a dollar bill first but I didn't like the way the color/patterning worked out and I thought the proportions could be improved slightly (that's why he's in the back). Once I locked down the design I folded him again from a new ten dollar bill and achieved what I think are better results.

The Headless Horseman and a bonus, super-secret model will appear in the October issue of Creased Magazine.
