I took a tumble earlier this week attempting another levitation shot against the ten second timer. A familiar and horrible back pain set in within a few minutes and I was certain the torture of pain killers and condescending, surgery pushing pain specialists were about to return. Not so! My new-ish chiropractor rid me of the pain in less than a week. Color me incredibly happy, grateful and armed with a remote shutter release. Lesson learned: don't attempt flight in less than ten seconds.

I missed week 22 of my own weekly photo project and posting to my 52.5 of 2010 group. I did take a few photos during last week, but it's unlikely many (or any) of them will show up here. I attended my second "burn" at Burning Flipside, our regional Texas version of Burning Man, last week. I find it difficult to fully let go and experience what such an event has to offer while documenting simultaneously. Many photographers can. I am not one of them.

I'm not entirely sure where this image came from in my mind, although it has been a trying and emotional week returning to the "real world" after such an amazing and, quite honestly, moving experience. Many of you know I'm not terribly vocal about this sort of thing in writing, so I'll leave it at that. I think you may see a shift in my work, as a few things in my life are going through some fantastic redistribution. Then again, you may not. I like to keep myself on my toes.
