He suddenly went off his legs last night and this morning he was put to sleep. He slept on our bed all night and had no pain. He went peacefully and easily, his head in Simon's lap. Our vets were absolutely fantastic and Ky got to say goodbye too. Sorry i'm hardly on these days but we've been going through a rough time and it's hard to focus on anything. Losing Max has ripped our hearts out. Sorry to be away so long but so far this has been a tough year. My Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas. It was a real shock as we had no family history of it. Thankfully she caught it early and has just finished her radiotherapy and is doing well. Obviously I have been in Cornwall alot helping her get to hospital appointments etc. My Dad and sister have also helped loads but they both work so sometimes it was easier for me to help. <br /> <br /> Unfortunately my fibromyalgia has gotten worse too so I have been sleeping loads as I also suffer with the chronic fatigue side of the illness and of course this turns into a vicious circle. The more tired the more chronic pain, the more tired the worse the pain and so on. <br /> <br /> Anyway that's life!<br /> <br /> On a lighter note, Max and Ky are doing fine. Max is 13 this December but still keeping up with Ky on the walks, he is amazing. He has 2 pills a day for his arthritis and his fur is patchy from his phemphigus but nothing bothers him.<br /> Ky is just Ky, full of mischief still.<br /> Simon is ok, still working crazy hours for Ginsters but hey it's a job and these days you have to be grateful just to have one dont you. He suddenly started being sick and brought up some blood to so off to the vet on an emergency. It cost £85 just to get in the door!!! Anyway they did all sorts of tests, bloods, xrays and they shaved his belly for an ultrasound. He was in for 48 hrs. The bill was £770 and they never did find the cause.<br /> <br /> He's back home now and starting to get back to normal though he's lost a lot of weight as he's still not eating much bless him. I posted this because it just looks so weird, especially as they obviously left his hair on his winkle. He also has to big bald patches on his legs from test and having a drip etc<br /> <br /> Luckily we are insured but I feel it's a sad day when having a pet becomes a luxury item. Vet bills are so high now that even with insurance you have to think twice about taking your animal to the vet as they like you to pay up front and reclaim it from your insurer which can take up to 12 weeks sometimes.<br /> <br /> Whilst Ky is worth every penny and more it's frightning to think how you would cope if you couldn't afford insuranve for your pet.
