Very simple woman. She was born in 1939 when the region cruelly suffered from the famine (Albert Camus, Misère de la Kabylie, in L'Alger républicain, 1939), She and all her sisters and brothers survived... Then, She made survive her 3 children after the death of her husband. He moved to work in France as lot of men from their region in 80th and died there (when my husband, her second child, was 5 years old)...
She speaks only Tamazight language, neither Arabic (She wanted to give Berber names to her children but at that time She was not allowed) no French. But specially for me She learnt few words in French, every morning she met me with modest smile and "bOjour"...
Once, my husband, 2 my sisters-in-law (husband's sister, Hackima and his brother's wife, Fatima) and me, we hotly discussed about French politics, She came when the discussion became too hot. When Hackima translated it to her, She immediately said that she loves France, we laughed. She never used to be there, but her husband did... The main souvenir for her is his old black suitcase, he kept it in hand returning for holidays, always bringing lovely suits for their sons and dresses for their daughter, he kept it when he left...

In little less than a year and a half ago my Professor made me "an offer I couldn't refuse" to participate in a conference dedicated to the famous published discussion between Leo Tolstoy and Elie Mechnikov about the meaning of life and, particularly, the role of science in it...
The conference took place at Mechnikov museum. After the conference, in private chat this woman said that few months ago she lost her husband and the interest to the world coupled with him, but this conference led by my Professor has awaken her for life and motivated to continue her work on research and popularization of Mechnikov not only like a scientist, but also as a philosopher and a great human being.
