The cherry plum trees just started to bud. This one is for Xeni.

One flash (580EX II) on a stand pointed at the subject dead on, one YN560 flash on a stand about 7ft. up pointing down at the background of the subject with some twigs between (to get the shadows you see) with a flat diffuser, and one last YN560 flash with Fong Dong 360° diffuser below the subject.

Bête Noire

The family's black cat, Bête Noire. It is exceptionally hard to get a picture of her. She seems to always hide her face just as you want to take a picture. She is exceptionally sweet and loves attention.

(I haven't touched this photo up yet. I'll probably replace it once I get a chance to do some fine tuning. This is just the RAW image exported as a JPG right now.)

Three flashes and a Canon EF 100mm ƒ2.8L Macro IS USM lens.

This guy just happened to waltz in while I was grabbing pictures of the new blossoms. I got very lucky!

A very close macro shot taken at night of a fern that had not yet extended its leaves.

I used a lens mounted LED light (not a flash) in order to capture this at night.

ISO 400, 60mm, ƒ/7.1, 1/80s

This is a composite of 9 photos:

The last two were taken purely to capture the over exposed portions in order to get good bracketing. Usually I would have done them at ƒ/22, but my friend was waiting in the car and doing the rather long exposures at that stop would have gone past the realm of politeness. Thankfully, the two over exposed images at lower ƒ stops added a lot without diminishing the final product..

Note: I was previously set up in the center of the tunnel, but the cops told me that pedestrians are not allowed within the exceptionally long tunnel.
