The new city library opened on 14th October 2011 in Stuttgart, Germany . Visitors have about 500,000 books, films, sound recordings, newspapers, music, art and digital media available on over 11,500 square feet in a nine-storey building. („Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart / Yiarchitects“)

Die neue Stadtbibliothek in Stuttgart wurde am 14. Oktober 2011 eröffnet. Den Besuchern stehen auf neun Stockwerken rund 500.000 Bücher, Filme, Tonträger, Zeitungen, Noten, Kunstwerke und digitale Medien auf über 11.500 Quadratmetern zur Verfügung.

MANY THANKS to all my friends and visitors for more than 2.000.000 views !!!
I can't believe it ... nearly 1 year after the first million on 20th August 2010 I reached the second one on 26th July. This time I was lucky and got the six zeros in my screen shot ... see comment.

The public library in Fellbach, Germany is a semicircular building with white and blue stripes. Between two windows is one red column, so a very colorful house ... see also in my comment.
For my crop I preferred black and white.

Die Bücherei in Fellbach, Deutschland ist ein halb rundes Gebäude mit weißen und blauen Streifen. Zwischen zwei Fenstern befindet sich jeweils eine rote Säule, also ein sehr farbenfrohes Haus ... siehe in meinem Kommentar.
Für meinen Auschnitt habe ich schwarz-weiß bevorzugt.

The Porsche Museum is an automotive museum in the Zuffenhausen district of Stuttgart, Germany on the site of carmaker Porsche.

The new Porsche museum stands on a conspicuous junction just outside Porsche Headquarters in Zuffenhausen. The display area covers 5600 square meters featuring around 80 exhibits, many rare cars and a variety of historical models.
The museum was designed by the architects Delugan Meissl. The exhibition spaces were designed by HG Merz who was also involved in the building of the award winning Mercedes-Benz Museum.
The original Porsche museum opened in 1976 in a side-road near the Porsche factory. It was a relatively small works museum with little parking space and it was only big enough to hold around 20 exhibits (in rotation).
After the new Mercedes-Benz Museum opened in the east of Stuttgart in 2006, Porsche went ahead with plans to upgrade and extend its museum in the northern district of Zuffenhausen next to the company headquarters. Originally costs were set at 60 million euros but days before the official opening ceremony on 29 January 2009, it was confirmed that the actual costs hit 100 million euros. (Source: Wikipedia)

Das Porsche-Museum ist ein Automuseum. Das Werksmuseum der Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG befindet sich am Porscheplatz in Stuttgart im Stadtteil Zuffenhausen. Am 31. Januar 2009 wurde der Museumsneubau für das Publikum eröffnet. Die architektonische Gestaltung stammt vom Wiener Architektenbüro Delugan Meissl Associated Architects. Das Konzept für den musealen Ausbau wurde vom Stuttgarter Büro hg merz architekten museumsgestalter entwickelt, das bereits für das Mercedes-Benz-Museum verantwortlich war.
Das alte Porsche-Museum wurde 1976 für die Allgemeinheit geöffnet. Es war auf dem Werksgelände in einer ehemaligen Motorenfertigungshalle angesiedelt und wies eine Fläche von 620 Quadratmeter auf. Zwischen 70.000 und 80.000 Besucher besichtigten jährlich die etwa 20 ständig wechselnden Exponate. Der Eintritt war frei.
Nachdem ein zunächst diskutiertes Museumsprojekt zusammen mit Mercedes-Benz auf dem ehemaligen Messegelände Killesberg nicht zustande kam, begann Porsche mit den Planungen für ein neues Museum am Hauptsitz in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Im Oktober 2005 begann der Bau des Museums. Die Baukosten für das neue Museum haben sich auf zirka 100 Millionen Euro verdoppelt.
Die Ausstellungsfläche beträgt ca. 5.600 Quadratmeter auf der 80 Fahrzeuge und 200 Kleinexponate ausgestellt sind.

Bis Juni 2011 wurden 1 Million Besucher des Museums gezählt und es wurden bis dato 5100 Führungen durchgeführt. Knapp 35% der Besucher sind Gäste aus dem Ausland.

You see here a small section of the glass facade of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. The glass front includes on each side of the building 56 fields, 7 in width and 8 in height.

The Kunstmuseum Stuttgart is the art museum in Stuttgart, Germany. It opened in March 2005.

The cubic museum building with 5000 m² of display space was designed by Berlin architects Hascher and Jehle. During the day it looks like a glass cube, and at nights the interior lighted limestone walls become visible.

The museum's collection comes from the previous "Galerie der Stadt Stuttgart". The city's collection goes back to a gift from the Marchese Silvio della Valle di Casanova in 1924. It contains one of the most important collections of the work of Otto Dix and also works from Willi Baumeister, Adolf Hölzel, Dieter Roth and others (wikipedia).

Zu sehen ist hier ein kleiner Ausschnitt der Glasfassade von dem Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. Die Glasfront umfasst an jeder Gebäudeseite 56 Felder, 7 in der Breite und 8 in der Höhe.

Das Kunstmuseum wurde im März 2005 als „Nachfolgemuseum“ der Galerie der Stadt Stuttgart eröffnet. Im ersten Jahr nach der Eröffnung des Hauses wurden 330.000 Besucher gezählt. Damit hat das Kunstmuseum sogar die Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart überflügelt (Quelle: Stuttgarter Zeitung). Seine exponierte Lage in der Fußgängerzone Königstraße trägt ebenso dazu bei wie die außergewöhnliche Architektur eines die Ausstellungsräume umhüllenden strengen Glaskubus.

Das Museumsgebäude mit 5000 m² Ausstellungsfläche wurde von den Berliner Architekten Hascher und Jehle entworfen. Es wirkt von außen tagsüber als gläserner Würfel, der die Umgebung als Spiegel aufnimmt. Nachts werden die beleuchteten Travertinwände im Innern sichtbar (Wikipedia)

Update March 2011: Published on the cover of Destination Germany. A magazine published by the German National Tourist Board in cooperation with the Federal Government to attract more tourists in Germany. The issue with my photo appears in the magazine 2011 in the United States and Canada. You can also see the cover in my comment.

Veröffentlicht in Destination Germany, ein Magazin herausgegeben von der Deutschen Zentrale für Tourismus im Auftrag der Bundesregierung, um den Tourismus in Deutschland zu fördern. The New Museum - National Museum for Art and Design in Nuremberg (NMN) is a state museum of Art and Design in Nuremberg. It consists of two main collections, the art collection (international contemporary art), originated from a collection of Nuremberg, and a collection of design held by the Neue Sammlung in Munich.
The main building, designed by the architect Volker Staab with a 100 m long glass facade fits in spite of its modern architecture for a general view spectacular in the historic center. The completion took place in 1999. The museum was established on 15 in April 2000.
In the first five years of existence, the museum counted 500,000 visitors. His partners in the museum building are the Institute of Modern Art and the Design Forum Nuremberg.
In the museum you will find including works by Andy Warhol, Joseph Beuys and Neo Rauch. One of the major works of the art collection is the painting "Telephone" by Richard Lindner from 1966.

Das Neue Museum - Staatliches Museum für Kunst und Design in Nürnberg (NMN) ist ein staatliches Museum für Kunst und Design in Nürnberg. Die Sammlung Kunst des Neuen Museums geht zurück auf die in den sechziger Jahren von Dietrich Mahlow in der Kunsthalle Nürnberg begonnene Sammlung. Zweck der Sammlung ist internationale Gegenwartskunst seit den fünfziger Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Das Hauptgebäude nach einem Entwurf des Architekten Volker Staab mit einer 100 m langen Glasfassade fügt sich trotz seiner modernen Architektur nach allgemeiner Ansicht aufsehenerregend in den historischen Stadtkern ein. The Stuttgart Stock Exchange is the second largest in Germany (after Frankfurt). Many leading companies in the financial services sector are headquartered in Stuttgart with around 100 credit institutes in total (e.g. LBBW Bank, Wüstenrot & Württembergische, Allianz Life Assurance). (Wikipedia)

Stuttgart ist mit der Börse Stuttgart nach Frankfurt zweitwichtigster Börsenplatz in Deutschland. Die Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) zählt zu den größten deutschen Kreditinstituten. Banking District Reflection - Architecture, Stuttgart, Germany

After a walk through the château park in Stuttgart this afternoon, I went straight on to the financial district and admired the architecture at the central station. The photo was made on a footpath between the bank buildings.
In the pond in the foreground was not much water (just enough to get reflections) and the fountains were not working.

Heute nachmittag habe ich mal wieder einen Spaziergang im Schlossgarten in Stuttgart gemacht. Dabei führte mich mein Weg weiter bis zum Bankenviertel am Hauptbahnhof. Die Aufnahme entstand auf einem Fußweg zwischen den Gebäuden der Bank LBBW.
In dem kleinen Teich im Vordergrund war nur sehr wenig Wasser (gerade genug, um die Spiegelung zu erhaschen) und die Wasser Fontänen waren nicht angestellt.

... at the Clearwing (Greta oto) .. a butterfly, which fascinates me. His wings are transculent and thus he looks like still more tender. Only the orange frame around the transparent areas let the butterfly seems to be colourful. The range of the wings is up to 6 cm . His home is Mexico and Panama. The most common English name is Glasswing.

Durch die Flügel hindurchsehen, das ist möglich bei dem Glasflügler (Greta oto) ein Schmetterling, der mich fasziniert. Er hat transparente Flügel und wirkt dadurch sehr zart. Lediglich die orangene Strukturfärbung lässt ihn bunt erscheinen. Die Flügelspannweite ist bis zu 6 cm. Seine Heimat ist Mexiko und Panama.

Bridge crossing Neckar - Remseck, Germany

The Neckar bridge made of wood and glass built in 1988 was at 88-m wingspan the longest wooden bridge in Europe. Approx. 1,000 acres glass keep pedestrians and cyclists dry.
The bridge is one of the two pedestrian bridges in Remseck (Region Stuttgart, Germany), at the mouth of the Rems (52 m) into the Neckar (80 m). Both bridges were built on land and then moved over the rivers.

Die Neckarbrücke aus Holz und Glas wurde 1988 gebaut und war seinerzeit mit 88 m die längste Spannbrücke in Europa aus Holz. Ca. 1.000 qm Glasplatten halten die Fussgänger und Radfahrer trocken.
Die Brücke ist eine der beiden Fussgängerbrücken, die in Remseck (bei Stuttgart) an der Mündung der Rems (52 m) in den Neckar (80 m) gebaut wurden. Beide Holzbrücken wurden zunächst an Land gefertigt und anschliessend über die Flüsse geschoben.
