The new church site was presented by Viscount Powerscourt Lord of the Soil and consists of 2 acres of land. The new church was built with a grant from the Eccliastical Commissioners and other contributions and voluntary gifts from the parishioners&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The style is early pointed and rather French in character, the nave and aisle about 25 foot wife .&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The belfry tower rises to 110 feet from the base and has a slated and gable roof , the bell being donated by L H Bayly Esquire.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Seating is for 450 people .The cost of the church being £3,500&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
An article in the *Irish Builder* 1889 mentioned the then new rector James Robinson, as being responsible for the re-pointing of the tower and the re-flooring of the vestry.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
These repairs were made necessary by subsidence's.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;It is probable that this was built in or about 1720. In that year Charles Whittingham became Archdeacon of Glendalough, having been vicar of Wicklow and rector of Castlemacadam since 1688. He presented a chalice &amp;quot;for the use of Castlemacadam church&amp;quot;, and he is described as &amp;quot;formerly rector of Castlemacadam&amp;quot;. The north transept and vestry were added in 1819, the cost being met by a grant from Board of First Fruits. However there is reason to believe that churches have existed&lt;br /&gt;
on the same site since about 1430.&lt;br /&gt;
 &lt;br /&gt;
The Parish was created in 1715 from the Parishes of Arklow and Templemichael and a church was built. The present church was consecrated on 27 Apr. 1870; A church was built at Conary between 1856 and 1859, and licensed for Divine Service on 20 Aug. 1860, for the miners (mainly Cornish and Welsh) who came to work there.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

    <media:description type="html">&lt;p&gt;It is probable that this was built in or about 1720. In that year Charles Whittingham became Archdeacon of Glendalough, having been vicar of Wicklow and rector of Castlemacadam since 1688. He presented a chalice &amp;quot;for the use of Castlemacadam church&amp;quot;, and he is described as &amp;quot;formerly rector of Castlemacadam&amp;quot;. The north transept and vestry were added in 1819, the cost being met by a grant from Board of First Fruits. However there is reason to believe that churches have existed&lt;br /&gt;
on the same site since about 1430.&lt;br /&gt;
 &lt;br /&gt;
The Parish was created in 1715 from the Parishes of Arklow and Templemichael and a church was built. The present church was consecrated on 27 Apr. 1870; A church was built at Conary between 1856 and 1859, and licensed for Divine Service on 20 Aug. 1860, for the miners (mainly Cornish and Welsh) who came to work there.&lt;/p&gt;</media:description>
