Dan actively search for the rat in the back yard. See Dinner Guest for more details on his hunt.

Dan would sit at the back door and cry to be let out when he would see the mouse or rat in the back yard. He was frantic this time and I let him out while it was still visible. He charged out and hunted for it for several minutes before peeing on the rocks to say STAY AWAY!

This little one is actually one of many that suddenly showed up. We had put out a bird feeder in the backyard. The seed on the ground attracted a single rat at first. We weren't too concerned and thought the rat was kind of cute. (No, not like the big dirty sewer rat, it was a common brown rat). Then quickly the rat had a friend. We were starting to get nervous about them bringing in family, when one day, this mouse (I say mouse, it could be a baby rat) showed up with 4 friends.

That sealed the deal and the bired feeder came down.

I will go through pics, but I got several of Dan chasing the little critters back into the rock retaining wall.

As the summer days are sunny, baby Jack search the house for a spot where the sun is sneaking in and he can lay in the sun. Sometimes he does it outside in the dirt for a few minutes. Here, he is wondering why his daddy is bugging him while he is trying to work on his tan!

Prince's Frog- A play on words for you. It almost sounds like princess frog :-p

While out on a walk, James spotted this frog hiding in the mud. That would make it my prince's frog. We also saw quite a few other animals that I hope to get posted.

It also helped me come up with a new term - Mudoflage - aka being camoflaged by mud or so muddy that you just blend into your environment.

A honey bee on a flower

It's been a while since I posted, but this one was worth posting.

Not as much the picture, but the happenstance. I decided to wander around the neighborhood and see if I still had the touch to get decent shots.

While I was chasing bees around I wondered into the parking lot of Evergreen Medical Center's offices.

It didnt take long before their security pulled up and asked me "Can I help you sir" which has always translated into "What the fuck are you doing here". I showed the guy what I was doing and told him I would leave. He tried to be polite and explained the area was closed (because of a holiday, not because any signs) but when two other security were already walking across the parking lot, it pissed me off a bit. They figured I was snooping around or stealing cars or some other rent-a-cop bullshit.

I didn't say anything to him, I just walked away examining the shots I had gotten (including this one and many not worthy of anything other then being deleted).

In the entire way home, the only thing that could go through my mind was "fuck off" and "so much for freedom".

I'm sure some of you will side with him, that's your freedom. But in my opinion that kind of paranoid bullshit is part of whats wrong with this country.

Actually he was content to rub his face on the ground for a while, then rolling all over it and nearly fell into the small creek in the play park. Gotta love his face!

Oh the things we put our children through. And I mean we as a society not just our little family.

We dress them up, make them go to church, make them chase around fields looking for eggs that came from a rabbit?? Why do we do this? All for adult enjoyment. Why can't we just buy them some candy and get it over with.

The Germans introduced the concept of the Easter bunny to America. Rabbits were used because of their breeding ability. Amazing how many things get wrapped into one holiday.

Needless to say, Jack got to play Easter bunny this year along with his brothers. Can you tell he thoroughly enjoyed it?

I know, not the best pic, even for a cellphone, but it was the moment.

Sam, Dan and Jack all waiting for the big scary V E T to come in and get them.

HA, ok, it was more of a WTF are we doing here thing and for the most part it went tell.

We got through the violations of taking temperatures (Dan's least favorite), the shots (poor baby Jack screamed and cried) and the entire visit (Sam shook like a leaf the entire time).

Over all, not bad, but I don't think any of them want to go back soon.

The thing that made me laugh is we officially have over 50lbs of Bostons!. Sam, 16lbs, Jack 11lbs and Dan 26lbs. One at a time its not that big of a deal but getting them all on the scale like this picture, now that's a lot of Boston.

Ok, they aren't sleeping any more, but they love to lay by the fireplace. Figured I would see if there was something special so I got it from their perspective.

We adopted Jack, but Jack has adopted Dan. If Dan is doing something, Jack does it. The fireplace though is definitely a shared resource since they both love it.

Sammy was hiding by snuggling up with daddy on the couch!

The boys love the couch. Especially when dad puts their blanket up on the couch. And of course Jack takes up half of it because he is the baby.

Baby Jack playing tuggy with his big brother Dan. That's 3 months and 7lbs vs 2 years and 30lbs and he is trying to hold his own.

Might not be a fair fight but he doesn't give up which is what made it so cute.

So far Jack has been nothing other then a wonderful little pup. He is happy, playful, smart as a whip and adorable. What a great addition to the family.

This is the newest additional to the family! Jack is 3 mos old and comes from a friend who was the proud daddy only to find out that allergies were going to cut the relationship short. Of course we were joking with Jack that he had so much cuteness that people were allergic to him!

7 lbs of totally adorable, mass energy, puppy powered, cuteness!

Sam and Dan will get used to him but for now they are working out how to deal with a new baby brother. Of course he is full of fiesty puppy so as his new nickname would say -- Jackie CHAN! and go all ninja on them.
