This one makes me laugh ... I insisted we peek our heads in to this still operating restaurant -- it was sure to be fabulous old-school, right? Wrong. It was the café equivalent of a no-tell motel. Eek. Still, a killer old sign.

I'm completely fascinated by the musty, crusty layers of life on these walls. We brought my favorite vase and a fresh bouquet to this old place for a little contrast and I like the result, but my image isn't as good as it could have been. I needed to step back, let those flowers drown in the context of ruin. (Update: please see image in comments below and you'll know what I mean.) Anyway the building's owners will be stripping this history soon, and I'm glad to have documented a bit of the beautiful decay.
