Monday night was my daughter's school orchestra program. She was asked by her teacher to perform a solo piece, and she wowed the crowd! There were a lot of hoots and hollers afterwards, and a parent was overheard saying that she should have gotten a standing ovation. LOL!

Tried something different today and did a handheld 3 frame HDR. Didn't turn out how I thought it would, but oh well. Time for bed. Will try and catch up with everyone tomorrow. :)

Okay so It's taken me a while to post, again, but I was a bit overwhelmed by all the attention that was brought to my photostream after getting explore on Sunday. Wow! Over ten thousand views and three hundred favorites on the one photo.

This is the good, the bad, and the ugly of getting explore.

The good: being recognized for your work and having it shared with thousands of people. (Although I cannot take full credit for the last explore photo because it was a remake of Steven's image that I recreated for the theme.)

The bad: having your photo shared with thousands of people. The main reason I decided to do the 365 this year was to stay connected with the people I've met over the years on flickr. I try not to get too personal, but sometimes it helps in telling a complete story of an image. All the new visits to my stream kind of feels a bit weird, especially when they are going through old albums.

The ugly: I had 40 new contacts this last go around. Most were your typical photo streams. A couple had no photos at all, but the ones that freaked me out the most had women and men in sexual positions, doing gross things that I'd prefer not to see. They didn't even have the black background with the snow covering over them. No option to "take me to the kittens!" I have since blocked them from my stream, but it still makes me uncomfortable and has me considering NOT completing this project. I draw a lot of inspiration from my kids and don't want creepers gawking at my girls. Gross!

This bunny rabbit lives under a tree in my back yard and loves to torment my dog Daisy. It will sit in plain view where Daisy can watch it. Then it proceeds to eat, clean itself, and then have staring contests with her knowing that she is stuck in the house. Daisy cries and whines the whole time wanting to go after it so badly. I eventually let her out, but the rabbit runs off before Daisy can reach it ,and then the game starts all over again. Oh, that wascally wabbit!

week 18 theme: recreate a favourite image

Yes, I am the idiot that tried to recreate a slackPacket photo for the theme this week. He is a Photoshop genius and my skills pretty much suck.....but I attempted this shot anyway. LOL! Instead of adding the effect in editing, we went with two face masks. One white and one peel away to try and get the shiny effect. I really need to take a class on photoshop, but ain't nobody got time for that!

Went to The Bluebird Theater and saw the Milk Carton Kids and a bluegrass group called the Barefoot Movement. So much fun! Great music and lots of laughs. My daughter bought the new Milk Carton Kids record and was able to get autographs and a pic after the show. :)

We are slowly getting settled into our new house and have since learned that Daisy can jump the rock wall in our backyard and chase squirrels, rabbits, birds, etc. Today while resting outside a coyote wandered into our backyard. My husband quickly tried to get Daisy back into the house, but instead, she chased after the coyote through the neighbor's backyards, down the neighborhood, and towards the golf course. My husband tried to run after her but she was way to fast. The neighbors said she stopped when a car drove by and then walked herself back home, where she waited for someone to let her back into the house. I guess she knows where her new home is. :)
