Bought a new 1.5TB external hard disk (storage is really affordable now, btw) and in the packet there was a small bag of candy. A nice surprise that exceeded the expectations I had on the electronics company. A low price for them to pay to get a customer in a much better mood (not that I was in a bad mood to begin with).

I usually want my pictures sharp and in focus, but I've started to warm up to pictures that are not always technically perfect. Somewhere around Commercial Street in Bangalore a boy waiting for the bus after school asked me to take his picture.

Even though there's a bit of blur here and a less than perfect composition I wouldn't want it any other way.

Today the power went out in some of the house. I managed to pinpoint it to one of the phases being out, but the fuse for that phase was ok. Had to call an electrician after hours (I don't even want to think about much that will cost) to show me an additional fuse box.

I was certain this was a box I wasn't supposed to mess around with, but apparently it is mine and not the electricity company's.

Sometimes a year goes on forever, sometimes it is over in the blink of an eye. The 365 has sometimes been a struggle but mostly a joy. It has been more difficult than I thought to take one picture every day. I do not regret having done it; it was a great experience. But I will probably not do it again.

During this year I've traveled to Egypt, France, Palma, and India.

I've bought a new lens (I love that 35mm prime) and a gorillapod. For my flash I've bought gels, umbrella and light stand and I've made a snoot, gobos and a grid.

I've tried long exposure shots, off camera flash shots, light painting, landscapes, portraits, black and white, self portraits, street photography, macros, water splashes, and much more. Thanks to the 365 I've taken pictures I never would've taken otherwise.

My photos have been used by a couple of people on the net: in Wikipedia articles, on a post at Umbro's blog, an article from the immigration policy center, and even a flyer made in Lausanne. What made me most happy was a teacher in South Carolina who kindly asked permission to print a photo to hang in her classroom as inspiration for dyslexic kids. Of course she could.

Purplemattfish was the inspiration for this shot. The wall will soon be covered with most of the 365 shots printed out 10x15 cm. That is about 5 square meters...

Although this is the last of my 365 pictures it is by no means the last of my flickr images. I will see you around.

Coconut salesman on the streets of Bangalore. You buy these for 10-15 rupees (if I remember correctly) and drink the fresh clear coconut juice. Unfortunately I never got around to try it myself.

In retrospect I think I should've gone with two blue gelled strobes and placed both behind (one on each side) the pumpkin. But this kinda works too.

I'm still struggling with the Sigma 70-200. It is really difficult for me to "see" photos with it; I guess I'm not that much of a tele-man.
