A Market that's corn(ered)

Photolab.AJ posted a photo:

Although the Kapalıçarşı (Grand Bazaar) in Istanbul, Turkey, is the most renowned, the Mısır Çarşısı may definitely not be missed out on. It's one of the oldest bazaars in this beautiful city. Located in district Fatih, situated just opposite to the grand Galata Köprüsü, in the neighborhood of Eminönü, it's an easy find if you're looking for it. And please do, as the Grand Bazaar is nice, but also the city's premier tourist trap. Not that this Egyptian Bazaar lacks tourists, far from it, but more than half the shoppers are locals!

There are many sites where you can look up the history of the flavored marvel. So, I'll leave that be...
However, there's one part (you know me!!) I want to point out to you. And that concerns the sometimes wrongfully interpreted name of the Mısır Çarşısı. This name is motivated the fact that many spices were imported via Egypt in the Ottoman period. The word "Mısır" has a double meaning in Turkish: "Egypt" and "maize" (the later meaning corn, mielie or mealie). This is why sometimes the name is wrongly translated as "Corn Bazaar".
