Nothing is Perfect!

On first glance it would appear the flower dominates. At least that was the intention when I staged this photo. I didn't realize at the time the melting chocolate would actually draw my eye away from the flower, so I would say the chocolates dominate even though the rose is larger and has more color. I see the drops of condensation on the dark chocolates more.

Now it is a reminder that nothing is perfect no matter how good it looks ;)

Starfish have the same basic shapes although some may be more skinny and smoother
than others. On this picture I put a filter... wanted to try it and see what would happen if the foto had a different effect.

Wild Horses of Nevada

I saw these horses through the trees. They were just walking around the mountain area grazing, but left quickly when they saw us. As for lines, I love how the one branch seems to mirror the line of the horses back. And the horse on the right brings my eye to the curved line of the branch in front of it.

This photo was taken late fall, first part of Winter.

Succulents.....I liked the look of the different greens aganst the white cane of the chair. The round part of the chair frames the plants and adds visual appeal.

I love how this has different focal points, all different in color, subject, and texture but they all blend together. From the serenity of the bottom left to the motion of the top right I found this to be both intriguing and artistic.

I saw this while driving and loved the way the water flowed over the small beach. It seemed to match the curves in the cliffs, and I loved the colors and how they all flow with each other. From the clouds in the sky to the flow of the water it all moved me....this is the rhythm of nature :)

This photo has a lot of texture and also the knot is in the golden spiral. I tool this because I love the reddish color of the bark, and I liked how the sap was flowing along the outside of the knot hole. It just reminded me of someone opening up the tree and letting the spirits flow out.

In the Indian Canyons I saw this lone leaf in the water. I liked how it wrapped around one of the rocks, and the swirls of water around it. The bubble was an added bonus :) I don''t know if it's balanced, but to me it is, as the leaf has action going around it?

Sometimes we see things that are so out of the ordinary that we are just happy to have been there to get the shot. Almost transparent in some spots, and quite detailed in others this shot was taken through glass and the only post-processing was to resize it and remove a scratch.

This shot was one of several taken of the sail from a windsurfer. It reminded me of the ultimate freedom, sailing through the clouds. You can barely make out the strings attached to the sail, and the blue and gray of the sail seem to compliment the blue and gray of the sky and clouds.

This photo is cropped from the original but no other post-processing. A storm was just ending and I loved the colors, but I also liked the shapes. Lines, light, and shapes..I was here for a long time and took many different pictures from all angles. The whole old look and the storm clouds just spoke to all my emotions that day.

I took this picture after I noticed the lines of the spokes in the hubcab were contrasting to the lines of the cobblestones. I liked the roundness of the wheel against the stark lines of the street.
