Mrs. Claus stands by the Polar Express train that carries homeless dogs to no-kill shelters in Northern states.

For my Flickr Friends: That's me! I loved playing Mrs. Claus! Everyone thought I was the real McCoy!

Operation Pets Alive (operationpetsalive.org) had a booth at the "International Winter on the Waterway" (iWoW) event, held, November 17, 2012. We had a booth filled with hand-made pet-related crafts (including wonderful handsewn aprons in many patterns), along with a "Polar Express" theme, complete with a perfectly-attired "Mrs. Claus". The booth was a huge success.

Cooper, an adoptable dog, learns some patience. He is a high-energy, handsome boy, but he's not for a timid owner--he's interested in "what's in for the dog" and needs to be reminded that he's not in charge!

These large doves were lit as part of the kick-off of the holiday season in The Woodlands, Texas.

As soon as I arrived at the event, children of all ages ran up to hug me and to inquire about my "husband" Mr. Claus! It was an amazing experience. I think I've found my true calling!

Photos from various ground transports with P.E.T.S. LLC, taken at transport days at The Best Friends Pet Resort in Spring, TX, where the truck and trailer pulls in for loading of OPA's "Pups on Trucks" animals.

Operation Pets Alive!, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization based in The Woodlands, TX, has overseen the selection, vetting and transport of nearly 400 dogs, including dozens of long-term (90-days or more) animals from the Montgomery County Texas Animal Shelter. Fundraising for this important project--which has provided new chances for animals, and much-needed space in an over-crowded open-admissions Shelter--is an on-going project. This is what I do almost every weekend--set up tents, man tables and walk dogs!

This is our prize-winning "Western Themed" booth set up at "Spring Bark", a tradition in The Woodlands hosted by the Lone Star Animal Welfare League (formerly The Woodlands Dog Park).
