I love how excited my dad gets about good photo opportunities. Some of my best photos can be credited entirely to him for pointing out things to me that I might otherwise miss.

Early this morning my brother and I were upstairs trying to be quiet while everyone else slept, and our dad called up "quick, grab your cameras and run outside! hurry, it'll be gone in a second!" We had no idea what it was, I assumed it was a herd of deer in the dawn frost, but it was a much rarer sight - a sunrise in Oregon. The morning fog from the Marine Layer conceals the sun almost every morning here, until the sun burns off all the fog in the early afternoon. This is maybe better than a white christmas.
