I've tried before, but this is one of the first star shots I've ever gotten that turned out halfway decent. I didn't worry about the power lines because I figured it wouldn't work any better this time than it had on multiple other tries.

I often find that something that I've driven by thousands of times suddenly appears to me as a photo opportunity. This was kind of the opposite situation. This was a place I'd driven by many many times, but the smaller of the two neon signs was broken. I was imagining a shot where the smaller sign could appear larger or the same size as the larger sign due to being closer to the camera, but it didn't work until the establishment recently fixed the smaller sign.

I also needed the right time of year where the sign was lit as I drove past after work, but before it was completely dark.

This one is kind of what I'd been imagining. I found that I really liked the framing of this one in the square ttv format.

I loved the color of the dusky sky in this one. I was happy with how it contrasted against the bright red neon.
