Die Burg Pyrmont steht westlich von Münstermaifeld nahe Roes und Pillig auf einem Schieferfelsen über dem Wasserfall des Elzbachs in der südlichen Eifel. Sie gehört zur Markung der Ortsgemeinde Roes (Landkreis Cochem-Zell). Errichtet wurde die Burg Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts auf pfalzgräflichem Territorium durch Kuno von Schönburg, dessen Sohn Kuno II. sich als erster seiner Familie „Herr zu Pyrmont“ nannte. 1225 wurde die Burg erstmals erwähnt.

Die Hohe Domkirche St. Peter zu Trier ist die älteste Bischofskirche Deutschlands und die Mutterkirche des Bistums Trier. Mit einer Länge von 112,5 Metern und einer Breite von 41 Metern ist das bedeutende sakrale Bauwerk abendländischer Baukunst das größte Kirchengebäude der Stadt Trier. Der Dom steht über den Resten eines prächtigen römischen Wohnhauses. Im Zuge der von Kaiser Konstantin eingeleiteten „konstantinischen Wende“ hin zum Christentum wurde eine Basilika errichtet, die unter Bischof Maximin (329–346) zu einer der größten Kirchenanlagen Europas mit vier Basiliken, einem Baptisterium und Nebengebäuden erweitert wurde. Um 340 entstand der sogenannte Quadratbau, der Kern des Domes mit vier monumentalen Säulen aus dem Odenwald (Domstein).

Though it might be mistaken for a fortress, Trier Cathedral houses an impressive collection of artworks, architecture and holy relics. It is also of considerable historical significance, as the oldest church in Germany. Today, Trier Cathedral remains a working Catholic cathedral and an important Catholic shrine that still receives pilgrims. The history of Dom St. Peter begins in Roman times, when a church was built by Constantine, the first Christian emperor, over the palace of his mother Helena. Construction began in 326 AD, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his reign. He also began St. Peter's Basilica in Rome to mark the occasion.
The Constantinian church was four times as big as the present-day cathedral, covering the area of the cathedral, the Leibfrauenkirche, the Cathedral Square, the adjoining garden, and the houses almost up to the Markt.
After extensive damage in the 5th and 9th centuries, the surviving part of Constantine's church was enlarged with major additions in the Romanesque style in 1035. Gothic and Baroque touches were later added, and the various styles blend nicely together, bringing a timeless unity to the interior. In the Middle Ages, the Archbishop of Trier was an important ecclesiastical prince, controlling land from the French border to the Rhine. He was also one of the seven electors of the Holy Roman Empire.

The Erbeskopf in the Hunsrück in Germany is a mountain with a height of 816 m. It forms the highest point in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as the highest point of German territory on the left bank of the Rhine.

Der Erbeskopf ist mit 816m. Die höchste Erhebung in Rheinland-Pfalz. Er ist gleichzeitig höchster Berg im Mittelgebirge Hunsrück und der höchste deutsche linksrheinische Berg.

10mm @ F/9, ISO 100, 20 second exposure. I only converted this photo from RAW to JPEG. Shot with a Nikon D7000 and a Sigma 10-20mm F/4-5.6
Seems to be a nice super wide angle lens.
