The Wings of Fancy Butterfly Exhibit ends for the season this weekend. I caught this butterfly macro shot at the Brookside Gardens butterfly exhibit today and am already looking forward to the exhibit next year. All of the butterflies will be shipped to the butterfly exhibit at Natural Bridge Virginia on Monday.

Spring is in the air in Washington, DC, and the butterflies will soon be all around us. The Cherry Blossoms bloomed quite early this year because of the warmer weather too!

The Blue Morpho Butterfly opened up for this shot of the butterflies on the windowsill. The Blue Morphos are very fast and can be challenging to photograph with their wings open to blue, but I was fortunate to catch this one at Wings of Fancy Butterfly Exhibit. I used my X100 for this shot.

I caught this butterfly at the Wings of Fancy Exhibit with my X100 and it came out with a very interesting effect. I actually thought it had a magical quality!

This little butterfly, at the Wings of Fancy butterfly exhibit, was dreaming of being free. Many of the butterflies land on your shoulder and try to hitch a ride out of the exhibit also!

This beautiful Blue Morpho Butterfly was at the Wings of Fancy Butterfly exhibit. The Blue Morphos are very quick and hard to photograph, so I was happy to catch this little guy on the windowpane.
