Reflections on the River

That's Life...

A 54-year-old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.
While on the operating table she had a near death experience.
Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?"
God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to
Live."

Upon recovery, and on hearing the good news, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck.
She even had someone come in and change her hair colour and brighten her teeth!

Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it, and booking numerous holidays for the months ahead.

After her last operation, she was released from the hospital.
While crossing the street on her way home, she was knocked down and killed by an Ambulance.

Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had
Another 43 years to live? Why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the
Ambulance?"…….God replied: "I didn't bloody recognize you."

The train now standing at.....

Electric Train

A few days after Christmas, a mother was working in the kitchen listening to her young son playing with his new electric train in the living room. She heard the train stop and her son said, "All of you sons of bitches who want off, get the hell off now, cause this is the last stop! And all of you sons of bitches who are getting on, get your asses in the train, cause we're going down the tracks."

The mother went absolutely nuts and told her son, "How dare you. We don't use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go straight to your room and you are to stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train, but I want you to use nice language."

Two hours later, the son comes out of the bedroom and resumes playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say, "Will all passengers who are disembarking from the train, please remember to take all of your belongings with you. We thank you for riding with us today and hope your trip was a pleasant one. We hope you will ride with us again soon." She hears the little boy continue, "For those of you just boarding, we ask you to stow all of your hand luggage under your seat. Remember, there is no smoking on the train. We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today."

As the mother began to smile, the child added, "For those of you who are peeed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the bitch in the kitchen."

Cell phone courtesy

After a tiring day, a commuter settled down in her seat and closed her eyes as the train rolled out of the station. As the train rolled out of the station, the guy sitting next to her pulled out his cell phone and started talking in a loud voice:

"Hi sweetheart. It's Rick. I'm on the train. Yes, I know it's the six thirty and not the four thirty, but I had a long meeting. No, honey, not with that blonde from the accounts office. With the boss. No sweetheart, you're the only one in my life. Yes, I'm sure, cross my heart!"
...

Fifteen minutes later, he was still talking loudly, when the young woman sitting next to him had had enough and leaned over and said into the phone, "Rick, turn that phone off and come back to bed."

Rick doesn't use his cell phone in public any longer.

Food for thought

Whether a man winds up with a nest egg, or a goose egg, depends a lot on the kind of chick he marries.

Trouble in marriage often starts when a man gets so busy earnin' his salt that he forgets his sugar.

Too many couples marry for better, or for worse, but not for good.

When a man marries a woman, they become one; but the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.

If a man has enough horse sense to treat his wife like a thoroughbred, she will never turn into an old nag.

On anniversaries, the wise husband always forgets the past - but never the present.

A foolish husband says to his wife,'Honey, you stick to the washin', ironin', cookin' and scrubbin'. No wife of mine is gonna 'work'.'

Many girls like to marry a military man - he can cook, sew, and make beds and is in good health, and he's already used to taking orders.

Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've travelled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?

You know you are getting old, when everything either dries up or leaks.

Old age is when former classmates are so grey and wrinkled and bald, they don't recognize you.

Getting home safely
I would like to share an experience with you all, about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the police on our way home from the odd holiday party. Well , last night , I was one of them having a few drinks with my co-workers & friends. Without a doubt, I had a few to many beers & knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit , I did something I have never done before - I took a bus home. I arrived safely & without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before & I am not sure where I got this one.

Again…Thank you all for your emails and get well messages, they are very much appreciated. Still have a few problems, however, I am getting better as each day passes; the Pacemaker is doing its job, but still have a few issues, getting there!!!.
I need to upload some photos, and I will still be taking a break from flickr for a while and miss you all.

Textured poppies. The last of my poppies are just about to finish, all planted from sead.

A guy goes to the supermarket and notices a beautiful
blond woman wave at him and says hello. He's rather
taken aback, because he can't place where he knows her
from. So he says, “Sorry, do you know me?"

To which she replies, "I think you're the father of
one of my kids."

Now his mind travels back to the only time he thinks that he has ever
been unfaithful to his wife and says, "My God, are you
the stripper from my stag party the one I laid on the pool table with,
and made love to, and all my buddies were watching,
while your partner spanked my bum with a stick of wet celery???"

She looks into his eyes and calmly says, "No, I'm your
son's maths teacher.
