Old photo, just seeing what the new layout is like really. It's different. I don't hate it but it's going to take some getting used to for sure! I kind of like the bigger contact photos, easier to keep up with y'all. :)

Kind of a puppet master scene here. This robber fly was wreckin' a spiderweb and was pretty tangled up in it.

The spider wisely didn't stick around lest it become a meal.

Hitting up an old shot of mine that I seemed to have forgotten about.

Supposedly there's 30,000 facets to each compound eye on a dragonfly. I don't want to be the poor soul stuck counting them so I'll take their word for it. :)

Not quite the shot I was hoping for but this wasp was alive and sitting on my desk, I didn't want to push my luck and have it buzzing around the room. :)

Strangely enough, the wasp is sleeping in this photo. I never really thought of them as sleepers, but I noticed its wings lowering the longer it was dark in this room. When I'd turn the desk lamp back on it would jolt awake and start moving again. Made for interesting focus issues, at least. Haha.

Been awhile since I've posted any spiders, so here's one as a remedy!

I'm not entirely sure which kind of araneid this is. I believe it's a spiny one because of the way the abdomen was shaped. Either way it was a total champ and posed like a pro for me. :)

A male grosbeak, definitely one that stands out in a crowd!

The oldest recorded age of one of these is 12 years, 11 months old.

Well I said "one more shot" and then I came across a second luna moth tonight. This allowed me to take better photos now that I know what to expect. I've got a bunch but I don't want this to be the all-luna-all-the-time channel, you know? Hah. I'll post more when things are slow. :)

I nearly crushed this one, it was laying flat on top of a ladder I was climbing up to take a photo of a spider. I decided to photograph this creature instead!

It was at home in front of the camera lens! All the rain we've gotten around here recently have driven these things crazy.

Also I hate to jam up my image feed with this but: This image is not to be used commercially unless you contact me and I agree to it first. This means you, pest companies. :)

I'm not entirely sure of the species of this frog yet but I couldn't pass up the chance to show off that cool lookin' eye. :)

It ain't easy being..brown? Though it's eating well. Those fuzzy things around the mouth are remnants of meals had earlier in the night. I'm wagering crane flies and moths.

I've looked at pictures of puppies running through green grass and the comments were full of "cute!" "adorable!"

I thought I would try it with a spider but upon editing this I think it was the puppy that made the other photos cute. Can't say this house spider didn't try, though!

Now if this was a jumping spider...

Close view of the body of the moth, this thing would not quit hugging the pencil so it was hard to coax it to stick it's head out for a portrait. :) Love those antennae.

I didn't have my macro lens handy and this friendly carpenter bee was chillin a foot or two in front of me. I did the best I could with the 105/1.8. Pretty decent results I'd say, though it needed some heavy cropping!

This one stopped by for a break from the rain. It was hiding under the roof of the back porch. This is part of a pair, the other one took off as soon as it saw the camera pointed at them. :)
