Brass utensils once used to be common in household uses, specially in the villages. Now these have slowly and gradually vanished due to their high cost, but brassware handicrafts can still be found displaying master craft of the artisans. They make decorative plates, vases, bowls and similar other things in exquisite designs reminiscent of the great Mughal period. Products of polished brass have their own appeal but it is the engraved work in colourful and artistic patterns that is most prized. In Peshawar, brass work is done on many things like household utensils of daily use to decoration pieces. In Hindko (one of the much spoken languages in NWFP), brass is called as "Mis," and the individuals who work on this metal are called "Misgar." In Peshawar a big market is allocated for this handicraft, known as, "Misgaran Bazaar," that means, bazaar of brass workers. People of NWFP give household utensils to their daughters in "Dowry," that are made of brass and are beautifully carved. These include water storage and cooking utensils.

Mazar-e-Quaid is the tomb of the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It is an iconic symbol of Karachi throughout the world. The mausoleum is situated at the heart of the city and was completed in the 1960s. The Mazar-e-Quaid has been officially recognized as the National Mausoleum of the country. The mausoleum is made of white Marble with curved Moorish arches and copper grills rest on an elevated 54 meters square platform. The crystal chandelier inside the tomb was gifted by the people of China. Around the mausoleum there is a park fitted with strong beamed spot-lights which at night project light on the white mausoleum. The glowing tomb can be seen for miles at night. Liaqat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Jinnah’s sister, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Abdur Rab Nishtar and Nurul Amin are also buried besides Jinnah. There is a beautiful railing outside the burial place.

Bab-e-Khyber. The Khyber Gate was built in 1964, at the mouth of the Khyber Pass, where the Jamrud Fort is also located.

Notwithstanding obvious signs of ageing, the Khyber Gate still presents an imposing sight.

The towering structure stands at Jamrud and serves as the entrance of the historic Khyber Pass, used as passage to South Asia by kings, invaders, barbarians and smugglers since time immemorial.

The pass has been witness to the Macedonian armies of Alexander, the tartar warriors of Genghis Khan, the soldiers of the legendary Mahmood of Ghazna, Ahmad Shah Abdali and countless others. The pass represents more than history; it represents the ruthless progression of time.It was to acknowledge the importance of this passage that a gate of gray-brown brick, the Bab-e-Khyber, was constructed in the early 60s and inaugurated by president Ayub Khan on June 11, 1963. With time, the gate has become a symbol of the NWFP and its tribal belt.

Blossom in Upper Hunza behind you can see Tupopdan Peak (6106- M) , also known as Passu Cathedral.
In March and April the view of of Baltistan and Hunza valley is incredible, though it remain spectacular throughout the year. The best time of year to visit Hunza and Baltistan is April to October. From spring to autumn the valley is more attractive , all three fabulous seasons have their own unique charm, which cannot be described in words but can only be felt. In the Spring season the field and orchards come alive with blossom of different natural colours in the villages.

Muzaffarabad is situated at the conflux of the Neelum and Jehlum rivers. The city is 138 kilometers by Rawalpindi and Islamabad and about 76 kilometers from Abbottabad.
The name "Muzaffararbad" comes from the name of Sultan Muzaffar Khan, a former ruler of the Bomba Dynasty. Muzaffarabad has always been one of the important cities of Kashmir. After the 1948-49 war, Muzaffarabad was made the capital of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

SKARDU is the capital city of Baltistan,Pakistan the most popular destinations in Pakistan for the local as well as foreign tourists due to variety of mountains, lakes, forts, deserts, streams and plateaus which are extremely beautiful.
Skardu located in the 10 km wide by 40km long Valley at an altitude of nearly 2,500 at the confluence of the Indus river,the longest river of Pakistan It flows from Tibet northwest across the Indian-controlled portion of Jammu and Kashmir, passing between the western extremity of the Himalayas and the northern extremity of the Hindu Kush mountain range; it then courses generally south through Pakistan to the Arabian Sea.
The town is surrounded by grey-brown coloured mountains, which hide the 8,000 metre peaks of the nearby Karakoram range.

Baltit Fort was the old palace of the Mirs of Hunza .
It is an ancient fort was built 750 years ago,It is situated in Karimabad, Hunza Northern Area of Pakistan.
The story goes that a Princess from Baltistan married the local prince and she brought in Balti masons, carpenters and craftsmen to build it and it. According to local legends, 300 laborers for the construction of the Fort were also part of the royal dowry of the Princess from Baltistan.
Stone, mud and timber only were used for the construction of the Fort, because these materials were locally available, cheap, earthquake resistant, sustainable, long lasting and adequate for thermal comfort.
The window frames doors and columns are elaborately carved, Timber is used for all the openings. The carving style originate from Kashmiri and Ladakh style.
Baltit Fort can be seen from all sides of the Hunza Valley as it is centrally located on the top of a small hill.

Murree is a hill station and one of the largest resort towns in the Galiyat area of Pakistan. It is situated on the southern slopes of the Western Himalayan foothills as they ascend to the northeast towards Kashmir.Its actual altitude has now been determined as 2,300 m (7,500 ft) above sea level.
Murree belongs to a sub-tropical continental highlands climatic type, situated in the outer Himalayas. This type of area has cold, snowy winters, relatively cool summer and frequent fog. Precipitation is received year round, with two maximas, first one during winter and second one at summer, July-August. Total mean precipitation annually is 1,789 mm (70.4 in).

Alpine Club of Pakistan and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) in collaboration with a number of adventure clubs and educational institutions of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Tuesday organised an event titled ‘Mountain Challenge’ on Trail-5 at Margalla Hills to celebrate the International Mountain Day.

As many as 300 students of schools and colleges were engaged in various outdoor learning experience including competition and learn basic life skills like confidence, problems solving, communication and creativity. The activities included pulley crossing, slack-lining, human knot, shrinking ship, balloon scramble, magic carpet, target dart, creative painting etc. Thirty teams, having 10 members each, from various schools and colleges participated in the event.

PTDC Managing Director Shahjahan Khetran was the chief guest at the award distribution ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated and thanked Alpine Club for organising such event to celebrate International Mountains Day and hoped that both the organisations will continue their efforts to promote tourism and adventure sports in the country. He added that PTDC has carried out UNWTO Campaign: One Billion Tourists — One Billion Opportunities, and PTDC is obtaining suggestion and feedback from tourists and visitors for betterment of services. Colonel (r) Manzoor Hussain, President Alpine Club and Secretary Abu Zafar Sadiq, Ayaz Ahmed Shigri Member Executive Council ACP, Tariq Siddiqi, Member ACP, Sohail Khan Member ACP, Ali Usman Member ACP and Karrar Haidri Member Executive Council ACP & Media Coordinator were also present at the
Occasion.

More than 300 students from Rawalpindi and Islamabad schools, including Faiza Education System Islamabad, Alhuda International School, IIUI School, Grammar School, Roots College International and Islamabad Model College for Girls, participated in the Mountain Challenge. The City School took the first position, Grammar School second and Islamabad College took the 3rd position.
