Got some news for you, flickr mates! Last Friday I succeeded my bachelor presentation and of course I also succeeded my bachelor thesis. Great news, isn't it? And the next thing: I also got a job, finally. You remember my application for Bonn? From 04.10.2011 I call myself "Junior IT-Security Specialist" for BWI Systeme GmbH. And I brought this photo with me to symbolize lights at the end of the tunnel.

A shot I made a little bit earlier than the moonlight one. I focused manually on the green to create a nice and colorful bokeh of "Kaufpark Eiche" in the back. I hope you like the overall setting!

Sometimes, you got to try out complete new things. Today, for example, I had two interesting conversations. The first was about the dynamic range differences between Canon and Nikon DSLRs (pretty interesting topic, trust me) and the second was on top of a hill with a complete stranger, let me say "a lunatic", who started talking to me about several things. No matter, he was completely mad. But intelligent. Don't know what happened to this guy. But let's come back to my first conversation.

Someone told me, you get more structure to the sky when you expose longer with small aperture at night than with wide aperture and shorter exposure times. What do you think, is he right? It think it doesn't matter. You get the same amount of light into the camera. How can there be any differences?

This photo was exposed for 400 seconds. A really untypical photo from me. I wanted to match it as close to the reality as I could get. The moon was bright this evening and the shadows hard, cold and also bright. Guess what I could see through the finder of the cam and the live view! Right, black. Nothing else. So I had to focus by chance. Somehow it's scary. And somehow I don't know if I like the photograph or hate it. Help me!

Last weekend I visited my old school, called Sartre High School in english, I guess. It is called the day of open doors and you can take a complete look at everything and ask teachers anything you want to know. It was some kind of emotional to see my old teachers and talk about the past and the future. I had a real good time there which I miss a lot, now. Thanks to everyone in school there!

One evening, when I came back from the Berlin Aquarium, my friends gave me a call to ask me if we should go play billiard. And as one of our favourite spare time activities, we had a lot of fun. This was the first time I took my camera to the Bica, which is the abbreviaten of Billiard Cafe. We had a lot of fun and some really nice to see pictures originated. Enjoy then, this is part I.

Autumn is such a great season - all those colors and variations. Then, I always have to think of Maine (USA) and photographs with wonderful landscapes, red leaves and houses. All in all there is so much possible emotion in autumn. I hope I can capture these feeling this year with a lot more experience then in the last one. Here my first tries! And now I fall asleep! :)

Hi flickr-mates, it's me again! Today with a pictures which is a little bit on delay. I made this shot from the Ahrensfelder Berge, which is one of the three highest hills of Berlin. This day, I wanted to captured the blood moon, dunno if that's right in english (Blutmond). Unfortunately it was way too cloudy, so all the photographers waited and waited and had a lot bad luck. So I decided to make two little shots there. If you know my photo stream you might be quite familiar with this motive. The second shot is made with the Sigma at 8mm and can only be found on my homepage. Both shot are, by the way, captured in bulb mode! Take a look at the exposure times.

In post processing I did a change in white balance and increased contrast, especially of the sky. Hope you like that so far. ;)

Sunday evening I did an experiment during the rain. I had different options to make a photo. One was to capture the rainbow and another to capture the falling rain. As you can see I decided to freeze the raindrops. The huge trash can is a nice color key without making the whole photo black and white. Hope you enjoy the photo which was done directly against the sunset!

I go on very planned right now. I did some photos at the weekend and I hope I am able to release them on time because others things wait for me.

This photo depicts an orange garbage can, typically used by the BSR in Berlin. I hope you like the unusual perspective and my point of view. I am of course still testing what my new Sigma 8-16mm is able to do.

After a weekend full of joy and fun I now have to go on studying and back in Stuttgart. That's all I have to say. This here was photographed with my new Sigma 8-16mm lens - a great lens. The next day's I will going to post some really great photos (at least that's all I can say after seeing all photos straight out of cam).

By the way: That's a public service bus from Berlin driving in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. Hope you like my motive!

I also have done some portraits of pupils in my old school. This young lady made some popcorn for free and I put 1 Euro in a little donation box. It was quite tasty and her teacher was really funny.

Of course I made various shots of this situation, but I did like this the most because of her spontaneous reaction and natural smile. If you like the photograph too, feel free to leave a comment!

All good things come in threes. I hope this is the right translation to my known proverb. On this evening we had some more pictures, but I simply don't want to post so much here. If you want to take a look at the rest, look at my photo blog. I chose this one, because I like the lights in the background. His view is also difficult to describe. This is my second photo of my Billiard Study. You maybe remember the first one, which is nearly the same without the ball moving. I like this one much more, because I really like the effect of fast moving balls. These in the middle are standing still and as far as you go away from the middle you see more and more blur. The person, one of my best friends, is awaiting at least one ball falling.

As the title already says this picture was made colder in post processing. A little bit desaturated with a blue layer over it, sharpened and whitened. Hope you like it, maybe I bring up later the original version, which is definitely highly different.
