Route 95 (my usual way home) was seriously clogged tonight, so I headed up 16th Street with all its lights instead. Saw this at one of those stop lights. It's the National Baptist Memorial Church - one of many places of worship along 16th Street in DC.

A gallery in Georgetown has a vestibule where they rotate different pieces. Today, they had these charming buckets and watering can out.

And with that, another month of PODs is in the can. (get it? Can? Oh, how I do crack me up.)

Went on a brewery tour at Heavy Seas Brewery in Baltimore. We got an up close and personal look at hops and malt. And yes, that is my meaty paw holding the precious beer ingredients. MMM, beer.

Work is kicking my butt. So exhausting. But, it pays the mortgage, so I shouldn't complain. Too much anyway.

Pretty blue skies with no haze today. Nice break from what we've been seeing. So, I pointed the iPhone up as I sat outside eating my lunch.

Walked by McPherson Square today to grab lunch. Occupy K Street has completely vacated and the park is now reseeded. Lots of hay and temporary fencing set up to protect the new grass.

A portion of L Street was closed today - my nose said it was probably a gas leak. there was digging - with lots of onlookers (and about five firemen supervising) - going on.

It was all good by the time I left work tonight.

Went on a photo safari today - Frederick Barns and Farms. Saw lots of nice barns and the three covered bridges in the area.

This is the Utica Mills covered bridge. I stood in a soggy soy field to get this shot. Please be impressed.

The AC in my office does not work as well as it should. And because it's been so hot lately, it gets mighty uncomfortable.

I've put in 5 work requests so far - they keep coming to the office, declaring the temperature "in the zone" and walking off. This would not be so big a deal except the building manager has also declared fans a fire hazard. We're not supposed to have them.

Figuring a battery operated fan could not possibly cause a fire, I brought in my old Disney misting fan today. That blur of yellow you see there pushed enough air around to make me comfortable.

However, I used it during the Blackout of 2012 and learned the batteries are only good for about 8 hours of fanning. I may yet resort to an illegal electric fan.

Because I am a rebel.

Not sure the thought process that goes into slapping various ad stickers onto random street signs. Who (other than me) ever really sees them? I'm guessing few people ever notice them - which leaves me wondering what the point of this stickering is.

I had taken the day off today to gently transition from vacation to work. Was an incredibly lazy day - but I managed to run outside to get a snap of my neighbor's marigolds and whatever those fuzzy red things are in the background.

On the way home, stopped for breakfast at Keefer's at the Pointe Golf Club. We randomly found it a few years ago and kept coming back because it wasn't crowded and the food delicious. Unfortunately, this year, lots of people have discovered this gem and the wait was crazy long. Food was still really yummy, though.

It's a beautiful golf course with lots and lots of crape myrtles. So pretty.

The Bodie Lighthouse is getting renovated. They expect it to be done by the end of the year and then will be able to finally reopen it for climbing to the top. Not that I'll make that climb. Look at how many steps that is!
