This could be processed to notably higher quality on the PC with the full-scale PS/LR (+plugins), the visibility of blemishes on the large screen, and higher computing power. But nothing beats the fun of doing it on the phone (e.g. while waiting for the restaurant bill)... You have to experience phone editing to understand why I do it :)

Not sure if this had to do with some ceremony (many are happening in this imposing, iconic venue) or in anticipation of one of the various protests that are also quite regular lately... In any case it's not an unusual sight here and works well with the surrounding statues :)

In fact, it is grey and wet today, but we had 3 sunny days in a row, who could ask for more? Some photo snapping took place, too :) And even in the rain these funky designs can't be called grey by any standard and carry the spirit of sunshine..

At the end of the day it looked like all traffic was chasing the last rays of sunshine. Following a typical grey wet day, London was suddenly blessed with some rare, glorious sunshine. Blinding - literally, because of the crystal air cleared by strong wind, and because of the low angle as the sun went down. The latter made people squint but also provided photographically beautiful lighting on street scenes and buildings.

I had the luxury of meetings spaced in time and location so instead of taking a cab I had a no-hurry walk across the City all the way from Bishopsgate to Holborn, discovering many gems we otherwise pass in a hurry and snapping dozens of phone pics along the way.

Some will one day find their way here, out of any (chrono) logical order, as usual :)

- after some hard-headed processing with PicSay Pro, to save a hopeless snap taken hand-held in near-darkness (compare with SooC). Nothing special but I'm quite proud of the result - thanks to Sony phones and Android editors :)

(Gate?) of the Bevis Marks synagogue, built in 1701 for the Spanish and Portuguese Jewish (Sephardim) community of London. Still there, 3 centuries later...

The kind of history I discover as I stroll the City in a hurry. It's not only banks and funny-shaped towers (this is right at the foot of the Gherkin), there are much older jewels lurking every step of the way. I have no time to examine detail or read memorial plates, only a split second to snap a shot - but I google them up later and often find fascinating stuff... A camera (a phone) is a great trigger for further exploration.

Proverbial London fog as described by Dickens, Conan-Doyle, and countless others. Studied all over the world in every textbook about this country - but, actually, rarely seen nowadays.

Shot in the warmer days preceding the current insanely cold weather, and processed when I found a few spare minutes.
