Svartifoss "Black Falls" in Skaftafell National Park, south Iceland

Svartifoss in Skaftafell is not a big waterfall but it's one of the most scenery waterfalls in Iceland, with it's spectacular basaltic columns.

One of my first shots with the new Carl Zeiss 21mm lens, and I'm falling in love with this baby.

It's very hard to shoot this location with the proper colored sky in the back, as the facade of the wall is very dark against the sky, so the facede needs much longer exposure, in this case I did an exception of one of my rules in photography and shot two exposures, and manually blended the two images together to have the sky blue instead of white. Yes, it's a litle cheating!

Aurora Borealis reflects in the pool Laxfoss, in one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Iceland, Laxá í Kjós, in Hvalfjörður west Iceland. Over thousand salmon are caught annually in this river.

The sun sets for the last time in the year of 2010. In Þingvellir, the National Park of Iceland. On top of the famous waterfall Öxarárfoss, the river Öxará falls down on it's way to lake Þingvallavatn in the distance.
