The Three Churches of Mahone Bay
One of the more famous landmarks on the South Shore of Nova Scotia is the three churches in Mahone Bay. From left to right there is the Anglican, Lutheran and the United Church.

The St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (middle) was the first of these three to be constructed and was finished in 1869. The United Church (far right) was actually built in 1861 but was moved to it's present site in 1885. The newest of the three is the St. Jame's Anglican Church (the yellow one) which was built in 1887 for a total cost of $8000.00.

This picture was taken on our way down to Rose Bay on Easter weekend. The vantage point that I used was from the parking lot in behind the Mug and Anchor Pub.

Being at work on a Saturday with not much to do, I decided to play around a bit and try this as a 9 exposure HDR. May have been overkill but I had lots of time on my hands . :-) After tone mapping in Photomatix, I brought the image into CS3 where I did some curves adjustments, used an Unsharp Mask and then added the border and title bar.
Well as I am from Mahone Bay, I decided that I should finally have at least one picture on my photostream from the town. :-) And the landmark three churches seemed like as good a place as any to start. This is a five exposure HDR (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2) that I merged in Photomatix and then tweaked a bit in CS3. Am really loving the CS3 by the way. Have barely scratched the surface in that program but the potential there is endless. Thank you in advance for any comments and/or faves. I really appreciate them. :-)
