On a road trip to the" Country Mercantile",trading post on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation near Blackfoot,Idaho. I took a detour down to my old fishing hole to view the Buffalo...down on Spring Creek, where the horses and the Buffalo Roam at free will... I was not disappointed...There were several bands of horses and ample Buffalo for as far as the eye could see.
This breeding bull was the largest North American critter that I have ever seen...He was separated with about 20 females for breeding...He had the world by the horns... Ten Turner makes headlines...The Bannock-Shoshone make Buffalo and they have been selectively breeding them for a hundred years

I was reliving my childhood recently and passed through the Camas Prairie to try and capture the Camas Prairie lit up with the camas flower...No sign of the Camas flower but there were ample opportunities to flag the American Antelope...I was so excited to be able to finally capture some Sand hill cranes nesting in the Camas Centennial Marsh... We actually have a sand hill crane festival in Othello, Washington but when they are passing through our area they are very camera shy...I stayed a couple of days in Fairfield, Idaho...and was very happy I did...

Quaker attempting to not set foot into the desert fuchsia...( No desert flowers were damaged or eaten during this filming at the Hanford Reach National Wildlife area) On this morning before embarking with Stepheny...I was confronted by an armed Federal Marshall... It turns out he was in hot pursuit of a person of interest in a white Ford Dully...I was just sure I was going to be arrested for trampling on the Federal Protected Species Act...Boy was I relieved when he was satisfied with my answers and exclaimed " Have a great Ride"...He sped off in hot pursuit...I gave a definitive sigh of relief...I have been riding and photographing & writing articles in this area long before there were any roads or Federal proclamations... Some of the rarest & protected forms of desert vegetation, wildlife & fish on this planet have survived along the White Bluff's of the Columbia...In Harmony with Tritium & Plutonium proliferation...( Minor Spillage & untidy eruptions) Think Harmony with horses...

Joe was unaware that I ambushed this image of him cruising through the white sands...His party of five Adams County Sheriff's riders hadn't seen us yet...Joe & Trish are the owners of Joe's Excavation in Othello, Washington. I have worked with Joe a time or two over the years...He is a great guy...and mighty fine father and long time member of the community...

Blue Monkshood w/ Noble Fir towering in the background... blue monkshood is found growing in the shadows of Jack Creek Meadow in the Alpine Wilderness of Washington... Do Not Eat it...It is poisonous... The name comes from the Greek ἀκόνιτον meaning 'without struggle'. Toxins extracted from the plant were used to kill wolves in older times, hence the name wolf's bane.[3]
