Thanks to a friend who owns a restaurant, I managed to try food photography for the first time. We used real food though since I have zero knowledge on non-melting replacements and did not have access to a food stylist. Using real food means I had to work extra fast. But for a first timer, I think I did "just ok." But Im sure there are loads of things to improve. Used ambient light and used a SB-800 to balance the lighting.

Strobist info:
SB-800 with shoot through umbrella at camera left @ 1/16 power
Reflector behind right of camera.
Shot around 3pm but was really cloudy.

With a trusty horse and guide, this is the trail we used to go down from Taal volcano. It was dicey, and hearing stories of horses bucking their riders didn't help.

The Taiwan government donated this railing on the Philippines' Taal volcano. I guess a couple of tourists took the short way down to the volcanic lake.

This is the real Tall volcano... its different from what the post cards show. There was sulfur in the air here... and they say when you swim there, it will instantly bleach your clothes.

Very long exposure. The cloud didn't move all night but gave a nice light show.

A bamboo garden found in a Temple in China. I wanted to spend more time here, but the tour group was in a rush, so I just pointed up and shot a couple of pictures and returned to the group.

Power went out and decided to do some light painting with a Maglight LED Flashlight. It's like drawing with a very very thick marker.

Also, It was difficult remembering where your stroke is and where you should point the light next. Hence the very archaic "cave-like" drawings.
