Shela. Sadly missed.

Shela: 26th October 2001 to 19th June 2012

Shela had to be put to sleep last year after badly fracturing her leg after jumping off the arm of the sofa and landing badly. I can't imagine why fate or God would be so unkind as to hurt such a sweet soul. I wrote the following words last year and they still sum up my feelings for her.
" I had the great fortune not only to know Shela but to care for her in the last year of her life. Her beautiful face echoed her beautiful soul and you could not meet a more affectionate and loving soul. Anyone was a potential cuddle and she had an unerring knack of judging who would fall for her charms as she leaned on their legs and used her big cow eyes to elicit a stroke and a kind word. I will miss her more than I could ever imagine. Loved by all who knew her"

Alas Penmaen Park is now full of sheep but we enjoyed playing here for a couple of months earlier on in the year.

This weekend is a Bank Holiday in the UK and the tourists come down to the beach. So we will avoid them like the plague, most are very nice but you a few pig ignorant people who abuse you because you have a dog. If we were any other minority they would be guilty of hate speech yet people think they can abuse you because discrimination is written into law that restricts our freedom of movement and civil liberty.

Indy on the hills of Llanfairfechan where recent spring snowfall coupled with extreme winds meant that many sheep and newly born lambs were covered in 14ft snowdrifts. Many have died and farmers have worked heroiclly against the terrible elements to save whatever lives they could with their trusty dogs by their sides sniffing out the buried Lambs. Please support your local farmers by buying British and locally sourced produce.

Laddie seems to have stopped swallowing sand for now, just making sure the sand isn't sticking to the ball when the beach is damp. Thanks for all your great advice, much appreciated.

Lennox would have been eight today but he was cruelly killed by ignorance and bigotry to the shame of Belfast City Council. Wherever you live fight against Breed Specific Legislation, surely in the 21st Century we should have laws based on reason not prejudice. I hope he is running free with Indy and having fun like a dog should.
