The Tayna Radio was established to broadcast the message of conservation. The Tayna reserve in Democratic Republic of Congo is community based so all money earned through tourism cycles back to the community.

Muyisa Primary School/Orphanage

This primary school is free because all its students are orphans. It is funded by the Tayna Nature Reserve. The reserve is community based so all money earned through tourism cycles back to the community.

The station for the trackers at the Tayna Nature Reserve does not have enough funding to finish building their shelter so they camp in tents at the site.

One of my roomates here in Rwanda is an amphibian expert. I accompanied him on his search for specimens. Here he is imitating a two-horned chameleon for the locals. Rwandans are terrified of chameleons because of how they change colours and move so slowly. They assume that anything that does not get eaten that moves that slow must be poisonous or some sort of withcraft.
