i'm back!

i've had the biggest whirlwind of week. but it's been awesome! starting on tuesday, i started shooting for New Orleans Fashion Week every night in the city and it was honestly one of the best experiences ever. I've met so many people and made so many connections that will help me further my career in photography.

here's a shot from a workshop i did a week ago with NOLA FW. i really love this shot, a lot. so let me know what you think!

i'm going to be uploading a LOT more lately. i took about 5,000+ photos at fashion week. on top of that, i'm shooting another fashion show on Wednesday and I'm doing some shoots for my college portfolio this week!

this is one of the many images that i shot this weekend during the photoshoot that i did with New Orleans Fashion Week. i really had such a great experience connecting with other photographers, make up artists, models, and hair stylists. i've got many more images to upload.

this week is crazy! i'm going to be shooting all of the runway shows for New Orleans Fashion Week every night this week! so exciting. and alex is walking in 3 of them so it's gonna be a blast!

it's getting out of hand having to constantly juggle school, theatre, photography, and college stuff. early action deadlines for two of my schools are on November, 1st. so i'm get more portfolio and all of the other materials ready.

last saturday, alex and i went to new orleans because we had an information session and portfolio review for SCAD. the information session was really great and the professor said that my portfolio was very strong, but i'm still focusing on NYU and Parsons at the moment.

afterwards, we hung around the city before going to the fashion show that she was in and that i was shooting. the show was at eiffel society in new orleans and it was really awesome. i had so much fun and made a BUNCH of connections. i got the gig because alex has worked with the designer, Molly before and she liked my photos, so she asked me to photograph the event.

these past few weeks have been really hard for me. but school is beginning to clear out. I have so many shoot concepts, I just need to find the people and time to complete them. i've been applying to colleges and going to various college fairs and it's just really stressful to juggle the applications with school and theatre and photography.

this was taken in the middle of nowhere. we took a major journey into the country today, ending up in washington parish. it was crazy.

i'm sorry for not uploading much lately, but these past few weeks have been hell. i've never had this much schoolwork in my life. and then having college applications and portfolios to work on, it's been really hard. i'm going to try to take some more pictures this week!

not like my normal work, but it never hurts to switch it up.

this weekend was crazy. on saturday, tropical storm lee made landfall in louisiana and it rained literally all weekend. the flooding was insane! knowing us southern kids, we all went swimming in the flood waters and took pictures. (might post some soon!)

in the midst of taking pictures on saturday, my camera got really wet and stopped working. it was dead for a good six hours and i was having panic attacks because i thought i had just lost my 5d mark ii. but after lots of rice and blowdrying, it finally came back to life on sunday. i was so scary.

this week is going to be crazy! i have so much to do. thursday night, i'm going to see katy perry in new orleans. saturday, i have to take the ACT for a 5th time.

ps, I made a fan page for my photography to get some more business. could you guys please 'like' it!

i know this is totally random and why am i talking on the phone, but i like it so, yeah. i've been so busy with school lately. senior year is not that easy and it's been stressing me out and i haven't been able to take a lot of pictures lately. this week was senior week at school. we got our senior rings and we had yesterday off from school. and we also have monday off because it's labor day, so i have a 4-day weekend! *hallelujah*

right now it's super stormy because tropical storm lee is sitting over all of southeast louisiana. this weather is amazing and i want to go take pictures in it.

spent the last few days in New York City seeing shows, visiting schools, and having fun.

this exhibit was one of the most beautiful and inspiring things that i have ever experienced in my life. i'm so happy the i got to see it before it closed, even though it took five hours to get in and i almost fainted in line.

school starts on tuesday! i promise more shoots in august!

sorry for not posting in a while. last night, alex called me up to help her set up her portfolio to show to an agency today. so we ended up rushing to downtown covington to take some ringflash shots.
