Complementary colours are pairs of colours that are of “opposite” hue in some colour model. The exact hue “complementary” to a given hue depends on the model in question, and perceptually uniform, additive, and subtractive colour models, for example, have differing complements for any given colour.
The incorrect belief that the complementary to green is red exists in popular culture.

Gregor Mendel is today recognized as the "Father of Modern Genetics" for his work with the cross breeding of pea plants (Pisum sativum) with different characteristics, and sweet pea has been used in a similar way.
Pea Plants here grown in Tatton Park Gardens around the vegetables.

Semaphore was developed in the late eighteenth century to pass messages over distances, especially from coastal sighting points to large cities to notify when ships where sighted. The system was refined using flags for maritime use in the early nineteenth century.
Famously the Beatles album Help (1965), was to have the four Beatles spell out the title with their arms. it was deemed aesthetically unpleasing, and the band's arms were instead positioned in a meaningless but aesthetically pleasing arrangement for the final version of the album art.
This is the position for spelling HELP.

The six man crew that looked after the light had their own allotments to grow fresh food, as the light when it was built was far away from the nearest town. Today the allotment area was full of poppies.

Last week while on a family visit, we went on a walk along the river to "the Nunnery Lakes". here after a short wait I saw my first kingfisher. it was some distance away maybe 300meters or more. so no beautiful close up. this is a hard crop into the original taken in RAW, so now very pixilated. but the thrill of seeing the bird meant I had to share.

1847
Morpeth & Egerton Docks open after years of planning and political plotting.

1851-60
The Great Float opens. It has been formed by closing Wallasey Pool and using Egerton Dock as an
entrance. It is planned as a link to other docks that will be built off its quays, but instead will become a
dock in its own right. It will have 110 acres of water and more than four miles of quays. It is split into
East (1851) and West (1860) Floats.

1850s
Emigrants are leaving East Float on ships bound for Australia.

1866
Alfred Dock is constructed. With its large river locks it provides good access to the Great Float.

1868
Following the repeal (withdrawal) of the Corn Laws more grain is imported through Birkenhead. There is a lot of demand for grain from the growing industrial towns of northern England.

1870
Corn warehouses are built on the Great Float. They store imported grain before it is moved on.

If you want to introduce insects to your garden grow the ice plant.

Hylotelephium spectabile or Sedum spectabile is also commonly called the Ice Plant is part of the Stone Crop family.

On one of our regular walks the weather changed and the rain poured daown as we left Liverpool Castle and headed up hill to the pyke.
not wishing to be lost on the moors above this walker was sensible dressed.

Lets just get this straight from the start...............
Liverpool castle isn't actualy in Liverpool, infact its no where near Liverool. and come to think it isn't really a castle either. so if any construction was missnamed this would be it.
Liverpool Castle is infact in Lancashire in Rivington. Lord Lever had a large estate in Rivington where in 1912 he had built a mock castle. The construction was to be a folly, an interesting focal point alongside Rivington Reservoir. The costruction was deamed to be a miture replica of the original Liverpool castle that was demolished in 1726, nearly two hundred years before the replica.
