Removed the old lady slipcovers from the mismatched sofas. The leather one was given to me by a friend since we had nowhere for company to sit. The other one is SOO comfy but quite old and the upholstery is torn up. I made a makeshift slipcover from two sheets and a quilt until we can afford new furniture.

I hate the faux butcherblock countertop. It's the only thing in the kitchen left to replace, but unfortunately that won't happen any time soon. I'm really pleased with the green wall color of the landing...I wish I could paint the damn basement walls too. That's the only place to keep the vacuum but I don't mind it. Want to spray paint the wicker hamper and put curtains on the side door, but first we need a new side door!

I am loving the bright yellow with the robin egg blue! Definitely need to declutter the photo table. I am also thinking strongly about painting the furniture.

So the living room wall color is the Behr Light French Grey that led me to Lorie09's photo blog, which inspired me to think outside of my box and paint the dining room a different color. She also inspired me to paint/repaint and decorate just about every other room in my house using her colors and ideas. Speaking of, I'm really really thinking I should paint my wood furniture.

I was originally going to paint the handrail white, but I'm really glad I went with black. It seems to balance everything out and stays cleaner looking. And there's yet another dreaded piece of wooden furniture....to paint or not to paint?

I'm really pleased with how this all turned out and how good all the colors look together. This is the view you get when you walk in my front door, which is a million billion times better than it was before. Need to put the curtain back up on the hall window.

Ironically, I painted the walls in here plum to complement the green furniture, but now I feel like it's just too crazy and I'm going to paint the furniture white.

Whilst I don't mind the taupe walls, I'm going to copy Lorie09 once again and repaint them BM Coronado Cream...I just think it will sweeten it up. How bout under that sink? I'm quite tempted to make a skirt for it but it's so tiny in there that I'm afraid it will make it seem even smaller.

I love these tapestries but the gilded plaster frames are practically destroyed. They actually look pretty good in this pic but I'm thinking of painting them white. I can't decide!

Yet another reason why my olive green furniture needs to go...it clashes with the new green of the hallway. I also need to repaint the bedroom trim to match the hallway and the rest of the house, and I'm going to paint the furniture the color of the old trim, which is a very yellow white. You can kinda tell the difference if you compare the bedroom door with the frame.
