The shortest grammatically correct sentence in English is “Go.” Ironically, for me the photographic equivalent is a closed door. I mean, sure, they’re basic stuff to practice compositions and they’re everywhere, but still I think there’s more to it and I can’t figure out why they catch my eye. Let’s face it – it’s such a simple and definitive statement for architecture to make. So generic and unequivocal – I wonder why I’m so drawn to photographing them? (see more exciting closed doors on my blog...)

Yes, I've taken the plunge to videos(!)

Cruising by the pier of the old mill, closed down just a little over a decade ago. For 40 years, the mill produced kraft pulp and employed hundreds. I'm told the air and water have improved greatly since its closure, though one still finds all manner of industrial junk in the vicinity. The mill took its toll, now the sea is taking its toll. All mothballed now.

If anyone has suggestions for a group that would like this, please pass 'em on.
