These Mule Deer are wild in the Tucson Mountains but roam freely in our foothill's neighboring community, jumping over courtyard walls searching for anything good to eat. Potted flowers; flowering bushes; planted wildflowers and cactus flowers.

Waiting For a Train

I spotted this lovely girl waiting on the train depot platform in Contention, Arizona. She was kind enough to let me take her picture, but never told me her final destination. She looked beautiful in her satin & velvet Victorian dress. I couldn't resist treating this image in a sepia tone.

Contention, Arizona was a mining town occupied from the early-1880s through the late-1880s in what was then known as the Arizona Territory. Today it's actually a ghost town, abandoned with the rise and fall of silver mining in and around the area of Tombstone.

I'm not in Contention, AZ. This is a movie set at "Old Tucson Studios". The lovely girl at the train depot is the love of my life and best friend, Judy my wife. We did a two hour photo shoot at this famous tourist attraction on a beautiful day, with the temp at a balmy 108 degrees F. It was fun! View Large ...

Blossoms in the Sun

Echinopsis, commonly known as the, "Easter Lily Cactus". This is a cactus native to South America, but florishes well in the arid climate of the Arizona desert. The flowers are impressive and sweet scented, blooming at night and lasting about 12 hours. I was lucky to catch the flowers in full sun with shadows in the background for contrast.

The Chapel at San Xavier

This is a view of the bell tower on the small side chapel which is part of the Mission San Xavier Del Bac complex. Located just south of Tucson Arizona, the Mission has been serving the Tohono O'odham Indian Nation and Tucson community since it was built in the late 1600s. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission_San_Xavier_del_Bac
